Right now I‘m struggling with the predictable slide in promises from our newly elected government. Just because we all knew it would happen doesn’t make it any less disappointing.
Here's the guy you've heard as an uninvited guest on the show sometimes
Also lately I've been drinking this seasonal peppermint bark tea from Bigelow, and it's surprisingly really good. Tastes like chocolate and peppermint with very few ingredients and is good with milk. I bought it on sale for 99 cents because xmas was over but now I might have to buy it for FULL PRICE because it's quite pleasant. (since it's bigelow "full price" is like $2.50)
Yesterday I juiced one pink orange, and one grapefruit, then I strained it and added it to a PBR. Which I froze for a half hour, and then whisked it and froze it again, it was baller.
I am very very close to my cat. She is 10.5 years old and is almost never not at my side. When I first got her and she was a kitten, I would walk her across town about 5 or 6 miles in a little cardboard box between my place and my partner-at-the-time's place. I feel like doing that we developed a very close bond. She is my bestest and closest friend. I stopped working retail (for a little while) about 18 months ago and it has been so wonderful and special to be able to spend every morning hangin with her and watching her through the window when she is in the yard and stuff. She is so affectionate and fun to hang out with, she never scurries away and will always just sit with me while I PuBBin the G, etc.
A little rain up here in Santa Rosa today, have had the window open all day and have been just vibin. Gonna make potato tacos tonight.
@Moon That Braun coffee maker is great! Very nice!
there‘s rain up here in oakland too - I love when you get a high wind advisory for the area and it’s like yeah all my stuff already blew over, I'm aware of the wind
Bwahaha, my christmas tree is in the backyard blown over and still connected to the base because of the wind the last week or so. I need to chop it up with an axe to fit in our compost bin.
Jokes apart, water is not put into stock markets because of commodification (at least yet), but it went into stock markets so that farmers could anticipate the costs of water. Now, I don't know if this will get corrupted at some point, but…
while it‘s not at all the same thing as commodification (in the strict financial sense of the word), breathable air is already a scarce resource far less accessible to the poor than the rich in the large cities of rapidly developing countries like china and india (and many cities in the west until relatively recently). if you don’t work in a well ventilated office building and can't afford an apartment with an air purifier, then you have no choice but to breathe in carcinogenic air 24/7. if air were a little less ethereal in nature, it would definitely become a tradable commodity at some point.
The city being snowed in has made hot drink drinking only sweeter, here‘s my nightly prep to ensure tomorrow morning’s smooth sailing to Good Time Island
Had this idea last night, it's been touched on here, with all the Metal Gear Solid comparisons but,
the attack on the capital was of such historical significance, similar to 9/11.
9/11 had its impact on gaming for sure.
Imaginea kojima-esque take on these events in the form of a game.
I think a japanese-style game like MGS where you play as the officers defending the capital building from waves of domestic terrorists could be cool.
But honestly this fringes on making light of a situation where people sacrificed their lives to protect our democracy, so, might be too soon/poor taste taking that angle.
But fun to think about a kojima-esque derivative.
It will be interesting to see what Kojima does next, and what political satire comes over the horizon of gaming in general.
