Just saw two people in the wild talking about the Playstation 5 Pro prices as if they were the new price for the basic standard console. Word is getting out that the price is ridiculous but not the reason why. I wonder how this will shape the perception of PS5 in the general public ā I believe the scalpers already gave it a reputation for being āthe most expensiveā console this gen, right? Maybe thatās why people are making these conclusions so confidently
I hope Annapurna is able to continue on and their former workers find work together. I appreciate seeing the Annapurna logo in the same way I appreciate seeing the words āhigh voltageā or ābeware of dog.ā
In a way theyāre right - this is totally a test to see if people will pay Ā£700 (etc) for a console. I fear that they will. I probably wonāt. It may also normalise the idea for the future time when they want you to buy a Ā£799 PS6.
I bought a Series X for Ā£450 at launch as a present to myself because I had some extra money from a work thing. It was an extravagant purchase - and an amount I normally wouldnāt spend on a console - but Iāve had a good time with it. I kind of thought by this point that Iād want a PS5 (or its then-hypothetical Pro revision) too but any exclusives that would have swayed me were available on PS4 or ended up coming out for PC, which I then played on Steam Deck, reminding me that I donāt really care about graphics. Which means I DEFINITELY donāt want a Pro console.
Sony made a big mistake trusting all their hardware design and marketing to that one guy just because his surname is Sony with an accent.
A PSA if like me youāve bought retro games from Italy!
actually, i collect fake retro games, and i can tell you you got to watch out for this one greek outfit that deals in fake fake retro games.
Judero comes out today!
This looks like some goofy fun
Mirthwood was supposed to come out last week and was unfortunately delayed to early November, but thereās a closed beta test going on. There is, however, a closed beta this weekend with signups here. Thereās some more information on their discord as well. Itās a pretty neat looking little life simulation with some inspiration from the Fable series. Iām pretty curious about it, and it seems to have flown a little under the radar.
Also, Natsu-Mon is $20 on Steam right now. Itās been out for a few months but itās an >50% discount on a spiritual successor to the Boku no Natsuyasumi series, so I thought people hereād like a heads up. Unfortunately the Steam release seems to have really underperformed. Very positive reviews but peak concurrent players is only in the low double digits. A shame.
I didnāt even know that Natsu-Mon was even a thing! Iām immediately sold.
Itās kinda crazy how bad they marketed it. It was missing from English Nintendo Directs iirc and was released on Steam before getting an English translation, which they quietly added as an update. I was even interested in it and had no idea it had come out.
Oh??? Absolutely not something I ever expected to happen. I really liked this game on Vita and it was one of the few remaining true Vita exclusives. Nice!
Itās a 6/10 Monster Hunter-like(the Vita specialty) but it has really good art and actually was palatable enough that it made that genre finally make sense to me. Good game!
in before Sony announces PS5-Pro-II-DUO in 2026
I didnāt know Freedom Wars was getting a remaster. Thatās a cool game.
Despite generally very positive reviews Plucky Squire got some pretty critical response from IGN and Polygon:
Kinda confirms the suspicions I had of the game from looking at the videos they showed tbh
for some reason i impulse bought this and so far have to agree with those reviews. Feels pretty limp and the writing is totally cloying. Looks nice though.
