I‘m gonna not say anything about nomura, that is my new year’s gift to you all. and who am I to judge anyway, a part of my brain thinks “the more shoulder embellishments the better”
I think it’s a pretty boring answer but I do like a lot of the clothing in The Last of Us Part II. I actually wanted to pitch a story idea out to some pubs about covering some of the in-game fashion decisions but I knew I missed the boat by not sending emails out months earlier, and hype kinda died down for the title pretty quickly after it was released. (Moby Games credits show that there was a stylist/shopper for The Last Of Us Part II. What did they do? What was their function?) I guess my interest in fashion within the last few years has delved into this hodgepodge of utilitarian, military and workwear clothes that I think felt parallel to some of the menswear trends of 2019/2020, and I kind of saw that reflect in Last of Us Part II in a weird, warpy mush-brain I-look-at-clothes-on-the-internet-far-too-often kind of way. Rothco tactical pants are generic as hell, but knowing that modern menswear and fashion companies are basically charging double/triple the price for a contemporary cut of military chinos, and deeming their olive colored pants as “vintage green”, made me look at in-game fashion like the Seraphites’ rain jackets (techwear aesthically reminds me of gaming in general) and Joel’s jacket (which, uh, might as well have been a literal Carhartt duck canvas jacket or something) in a different light while playing.
Anyway, uh. I like Jet Set Radio clothes a lot.
EDIT: OH I FORGOT, I really like the fashion aesthetics Advance Wars, like, A LOT.
@tapevulture#13305 Oh! This character is even more interesting because they're wearing Reebok Pump Fury-ish sneakers, which came out in 1994, and are hugely popular in Japan. I ways try to find new characters who wear them.
i have been looking for a new haircut because the one that i INVENTED (it‘s OK you don’t have to believe me) for myself more than 10 years ago, after careful consideration of my hideous bulbous head shape, is officially the haircut of the alt-right and 10-year-olds at my son‘s elementary school. after a good year of soul-searching and just growing out my hair with no direction i think i’m going to go for eiyuden nowa's hairstyle as pictured below
the issue is that my hairline is receding and i am in a race against time to pull it off before the swoop across the forehead becomes an obvious combover. lengthwise i am nearly there
@chazumaru wonder if there is anything between bu and sha. as sha you make the big bux and don't really have to do anything of course, but feel like your road always ends prostrating yourself before a mass of flashing camera bulbs. seems embarrassing to me
