The way the conductor explains how one car arrives at the summit as the other returns to one of the gate stations, I think you’re right!

The moody, wonderful Persona 3 FES train segment.
I always enjoyed the desert train in Mario Kart.
And the sick as hell evil Russian train in Goldeneye.
Finally, Thomas’ iconic appearance in Elden Ring.
TBH, I love funiculars and clocked it immediately. They don’t appear in fiction or in my personal real life nearly enough! There’s a good funicular scene in JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure…

but I think this one belongs in the Insert Credit *Top 3 Video Game Trains of All Time, okay?
It’s the train from stage one of CHALLENGER, for FAMILY COMPUTER.
This is the SPELUNKER or ELEVATOR ACTION of trains. Even the DONKEY KONG of trains, it copied those little fire sprites from Stage 4 of DK.
