There is a building in the city here that some peregrine falcons have made a nest upon. There’s CCTV cameras set up with monitors in the lobby, and also broadcast via streaming
The building has a small page dedicated to them:
I found this nuthatch on their back and panting outside my balcony door this morning. I think they hit my window.
After a bit they seemed alright and did in fact take off, but I’m really into the idea of getting bird-proof dots for my windows now. This is the second bird that’s hit my living room window (that I know of) in the past year.
We have a number of inexpensive semi-clear static cling decals on our window that breaks up the space and helps prevent bird strikes. We also moved our bird feeder to the side of the window so it’s not centered on it so they don’t decide to over-shoot and turn back which risks them hitting the glass.
Good luck!
I didn’t know there were static-adhering kinds! Do you have a link to what you used?
Just search for “window strike prevention decals” on Amazon and get whatever suits your fancy. Or you can go to a local bird/wildlife shop as they will have them.
Or if you have excess of that privacy cling film (we put some up in our bathrooms) you can cut shapes out yourself.
Make it easy on yourself and the birds. You don’t need to make it complex!
This is like that F1 lizard.
It doesn’t get prettier than cockatiels. Every single one is the most beautiful bird ever.
Don’t really know much about birds except what my wife has taught me about birds but that looks like a great bird.
Taking the opportunity this morning to educate myself about pigeons. I did not know the noise they make when taking flight comes from their feathers—had always assumed it was some kind of vocalization.
