controller talk

Got this bad boy from Aliexpress for like $12 and it works perfectly. Finally getting to play my PS4 again using a XONE controller that doesn’t hurt my hands.

No input lag!

There’s got to be an interesting story behind this! But I have yet to hear it.

I completely missed this leak! I don’t like those stick placements, and yeah, the D-pad on the Deck kind of sucks. As long as there are 4 paddles on the back, I’d still be interested in this just to switch from my Elite Series 2, which is incredible, but has some serious build quality issues that a $200(CAD) controller should not have.

Valve is alright about making things repairable. Hopefully that continues for a new controller, too.

I got both the clear Xbox controllers on Black Friday because my Xbox one controller was falling apart after a decade. I don’t regret it even though they’re small for my hands making the shoulder buttons challenging to access.

I’ll probably get the second steam controller. I still use the first one on occasion. I’m mostly just into how weird they are

Been seeing this a lot in stores and online, very tempting cause they look sick. I Can’t justify it over a $30 default white one… but they’re sick.

I waited until they were 40 bucks for similar reasons.

(more general discussion)
The xbox anniversary editions were the ones I really wanted. I like to default to transparent black. Still want a Keita Takahashi custom colorway. Might get colors that better match mine and my partner’s aesthetic. The clear cyan and clear white just barely miss the mark for me, just now I considered actually swapping out for one but realized those are the only two options for clear ones right now. HM… there may be more to come. As this console generation ages I wonder what the next iteration of the xbox standard will be. I did just purchase my third oem xbox controller on top of my original robot white and elite 2 in white, so now I have two in robot white.

I want the blue one so much. It’s expensive though :(

Yeah, I waited and waited until they went on a deep enough sale to get them.

I purchased one! Got myself a juicy discount coupon, so I treated myself with a new controller.

this is maybe a silly ask but does anyone have a recommendation for cheap decent quality wired 360 controllers?

original microsoft controllers are a bit expensive but i got a gamestop branded pdp controller 8 years ago and its been my consistent mainstay for many of those years honestly

just want something low effort for game night because when i use a lot of wireless controllers from different brands software acts up and someone inevitability gets confused on button prompts for this game or that

Was going to suggest that or the wireless model with a cable!

I bought one of those wireless ones a couple of months ago and it’s easily my most used controller, with or without the cable. It is so responsive, comfortable and the D-pad is so much easier to use than the newer official controllers. The only tiny gripe I have with it, sometimes when I’m playing a game on my Steamdeck with it, the game won’t recoginise it as an Xbox controller and uses generic button inputs for it, when it will for example find a Dual Shock 4 mapping no problems. But that’s on me, not the controller.

for christmas my partner’s parents gave me a $25 Gamestop gift card. I have boycott gamestop since 2012. We needed a controller for my partner’s house for when I bring my PC over, so I’m not always carrying a mini portable controller or bulkier ones back and forth.
I was pretty disappointed that my $25 gift card couldn’t go towards an 8bitdo ultimate C or something, rather I was now obligated to spend another $30 of my own money for a “refurbished” Xbox Series controller if I wanted that OEM quality. It’s insane to me how high the prices are for refurbished controllers at gamestop nowadays holy shit. And the price varies depending on dumb ass colors, meaning it goes up from there, from $55 plus tax or whatever. Insane. Back to boycotting gamestop. I would never spend more than $30 on an xbox series controller. They’re all over secondhand apps.
