Hey all.
I'm about 14 hours into DQXI which is my first Dragon Quest. I can't believe I'd waited so long to try them! It's so delightful!

@“goonbag”#p31895 I am feeling exactly the same. That description is perfect.

@“treefroggy”#p34266 god I wish that were me
Played one session (30 minutes exactly ) of DQV DS and am poking my head in here to say the fidelity of the title screen music is impressive. Even with headphones I find DS music usually sounds pretty compressed, but not so here.
Spike Chunsoft did great leaning in to Mystery Dungeon last generation… Mystery Dungeon is basically the best Dragon Quest games IMHO, they do moderately well in t he US. I feel like any time they could have been dropping another DQ Mystery Dungeon and it would be extremely successful. I guess not as much as Pokemon, or… Etrian Odyssey?
you can imagine it, and it'd be so tight.
Next Monsters game stars young Kamyu. That would be so sick. Think of the possibilities for the characters in the next spin off games....
I‘m about 15 hours in to DQXI. Can I just say can I PLEASE play DQVIII in HD with XI’s free-roaming battle camera, battle speed options and ability to avoid enemies in the field. I NEVER ask for remakes
I recently finished my third complete playthrough of DQXI and damn, I miss those characters. Like, miss them as though they're real people that are no longer around.
Game is very special. Will _inevitably_ play again. Again.
@“ivalice”#p34768 exactly why I hope the days of Draque spin-offs centering on side stories of main series characters are not gone forever.
Dragon Quest IV DS recently got a hack/translation? thing? that inserts the English party chat dialogue back into the game. For those that don't know DQIV on DS has party chat in the JP version(and it accounts for a massive chunk of the script) and party chat was completely removed from the localized version. When the mobile ports came out they translated and put the party chat stuff back in. So this rights the wrongs of Square Enix past. Is here.
I actually bought it on mobile because it was the complete version but now I can try it on some actual hardware!

Can’t search for any Dragon Warrior / Quest videos on YT without this toxic sludge showing up[upl-image-preview url=//i.imgur.com/pyjvBBt.jpeg]

Eh that‘s a shame cuz’ Derek‘s normally quite positive really - he’s very much standard youtuber but he and Grace are earnest enough. I think they cover the usual stuff in that video (war crimes, etc his grip over the distribution of soundtracks).
I wish DQ IV had come out on Gameboy Color like 1-3 did. That would have been so sick….
Maybe a prototype will be found someday lol
I’m sorry, but, how come I have to complete some optional post game quest just to see some official hand drawn art assets of the DQ11 cast when there was barely any to begin with?? I’ve been searching, craving any 2D art to stimulate my imagination. No google searches turned it up. Then I saw some screenshot on steam community of the ||marriage|| photos and it’s like damn, that sure is some good artwork…. This sure is some dragon quest
This game barely even has cover art, the art book was barren, what the hemck
I miss the comics from the older games
I am quenching my intense thirst with fan art alone.
Going slow, I know, but I finished Act 1 of DQXI last week. Whoa!
It actually encouragd me to take a short respite (after seeing what direction it took the story). Keen to get back into it.

These cute little manual illustrations are sorely missed in DQ11. Why were we so shafted in the art department?
Don‘t say because manuals are a thing of the past because the DQ11 art book is out and it’s sparse as hell.
Unreal Engine eats up art and turns it into rock textures
