@treefroggy#27515 hopefully this person grows up a bit in the near future, up to you how much you wanna put up with that process. maybe if you set some boundaries it would help both you, and that person get a clue (disregard this advice if you've already tried this)
Here is an exclusive photo of this person telling someone that their appreciation of Dragon Quest is “pretentious”

It was my birthday on Friday and my housemate got me this ace Dragon Quest book. I‘ve not read much yet but can tell it’ll be a good read.
I have been playing the hooves off of dragon quest builders 2. Minecraft is literally, My Favorite Video Game, and this is like, I don't even know where I am anymore. Exactly what I needed right now. Quitting my job.
@Syzygy#28281 I have no idea! I will say that I am personally loving this localization. Jokes to the T.
aw man, I‘ve now officially passed the 100 hour mark in DQXI. I’ve been playing this game since January lol.
it still feels so dense and there's so much to do. I wonder if I'll have beaten it by June lol
@p3ters#28580 One thing I‘ve noticed is there’s no world map yet? Why on earth can't I view the whole map at once??
@treefroggy#28604 Go to your magic spells, clicking on Zoom should bring up the World Map.
@dicegame#28276 damn my furrowfield farm looked like shit compared to that
Builders 2 is one of the carts that got stolen with my first Switch and I was L O V I N G it up to when that happened so that was sad for me
Been waiting for the digital version to go on sale but it just never does!!!
the first island of builders 2 complements the way i play minecraft very well: plant gardens, build small houses, a barn, crafting areas, etc. so many times the game has given me a quest that feels like, exactly what i would naturally want to do if i was playing without structure at all - and it feels good to be rewarded beyond completing your carpentorial vision. i also love how the structures im making are actively used by the townsfolk, and the better i can provide for their necesseities or desires the more items i unlock - there is even an added level of discovery here: i was asked to make a kitchen for two townsfolk and i naturally added a dining table (large table, stools, supper plates) which turned my “Agricultural Kitchen” into a “Agricultural Cafe” and now my residents will come into the cafe and be served food cooked by the cooks WOAH !!! minecraft is frequently a lonely game - even when you're playing with other people, this feels so much more alive - kind of like kindergarten dwarf fortress. minecraft often comes short for me by sideloading my satisfaction into what “could” be lived in whereas builders 2 offers this satisfaction in full.
my biggest issue so far is with the frankly tiny town area. the barn in the top right of my original post is technically out of town bounds and isn't used by any of my townsfolk (except for me). i feel like the game is encouraging me to make like, one big depression box commune operation, with space for lots of different rooms instead of the more idyllic, separated, individual structure, hobbit-esque approach ive taken. they didn't even give me the ability to craft roof tiles until my town reached max level, and made a comment about "it's probably too late for you to use these lol!" im like - yeah it is, i had to resort to using stair tiles that hilariously don't block the rain. i spent an hour scavenging roof tiles from neighboring ruins to build my barn!!! maybe this is just the result of this being the First Island, and them being hesitant to encourage tedious work like, putting a roof on your house (i enjoy this though). still, i don't want to make some ugly ass cubicle boxes for my residents, i want it to be a pleasant little farming town. the town space feels way too small to support all of my resident's needs (bedrooms, eating areas, bath, toilets, farm space) unless i adopt a Single Large Structure approach which doesn't look good at all. I seen some ugly ass first towns. The blueprint for the bath that you have to build is also ugly as fuck - i put it underground, beneath the spring.
@p3ters#28580 This makes me a little scared to put more time into the game, because I know that once a game clicks for me it's pretty much the only thing I will play (and maybe even think about lol)
Y‘all are really hyping me / reminding me I would like Builder 2 as well. My favorite Minecraft experience was back when you could build infinite mushroom towers with just bonemeal and mushrooms and dirt and I used that to frame out my world-tree-esque dungeon…. Then a very bad friend burnt it all down with lava when I was away from the server one day.
But since day 1 I’ve considered minecraft to be a dungeon crawler, basically it‘s a king’s field ripoff. I just don't like how slow the first one started, I aint got time for that back then.
Okay so this may sound silly but I was re-listening to Timothy's Dragon Quest XI review(s) and stream now that I'm about 20 hours into the game. I've formed my own opinions / gripes already but I hesitate to criticize the game at all TBH after that traumatic event where my homie just sent me some nasty 4chan trash opinions about DQ11 right after I told him bought it.
Only thing that I want to mention (reason for this post) is how often Tim refers to playing DQ after a bath, in a bath robe, etc. it reminds me that I don't get to take a shower every day, how amazing it feels when I do get to shower and play DQ afterwards, how I can fill in other cleansing rituals as a replacement, and how it's so much better in Japan where I could just walk into a bath house and pay $3 to take a bath no strings attached and not necessarily be assaulted by anyone other than Yakuza.
(that actually happened to me, I was cornered by yakuza in a bath house in Taito-ku one time. the baths also had electrocution feature it was hardcore.)
In summary, put on your motherfucking yukata
I just took a hot shower and smoked a blunt and a doobie and ate some tamales and put on my yukata, going to play dragon quest now lol
@kory#28690 haha yeah. I actually have the final final boss already unlocked I believe, but it's like nah forget that I wanna do literally every side quest first!!
the whole post game is just open worldy. Every town you revisit has a new surprise for you. There's an item that if you use it, it will tell you all the people that you can still help. Unfortunately by the time I got it I only have like 3 quests left :p
@p3ters#29508 oh my god . . . i need that item. i want to see Everything in DQ11 . . . except maybe the 2D tickington stuff. kinda only caring about the 3D stuff right now.
@dicegame#29574 haha I‘d tell ya how to get it but I can’t figure out how to write spoilers in the forum O_o Do note however it's only applicable to the last part of the game.
and yeah, I'm skipping all that 2D stuff too, but I believe one of the endgame quests is another set of dungeons. yikes!!
