My addition to the two good buttons is Attempt Lock-On and Turning Joystick as you are in the middle of an arial dogfight.
Is a double-tap a two button combo? Because I really enjoy double-tapping the trigger to switch your shortcuts in ff14. In a really busy encounter that game can feel like driving a car with two gearshifts.
I wonder if somebody really voted for Tim on the Sight & Sound poll and, if so, what else was on their ballot…
Fun potential activity for the movie thread: pair each Action Button video with another movie to make a set of fun double features
@“exodus”#p125955 a lesson I learned the hard way, but now thoroughly live by
@“exodus”#p125965 As a fellow ‘stuff haver’, does this bother you because of its reduced re-sale value, or do you see it as ‘your copy’ that you‘re not getting rid of, so it’s at-least fully neutral?
“what is the thinking man's……” could be a good Lightening Round
@“Jaffe”#p125721 This is among the most intriguing comments ever posted on this forum.
@“whatsarobot”#p126031 yeah, like does jaffe's mom hold some grudge against tim for not laughing at all his jokes?
@“saddleblasters”#p126033 Ep. 298 - Mrs. Jaffe Has Tim Opinions
@“whatsarobot”#p126035 it's going to be a list episode where the panel (including Mama Jaffe) has to work out the top 20 Jaffe jokes.
@“Mnemogenic”#p125988 we're calling that one button.
@"MartynEm"#p126026 it's definitely "my copy" which won't get sold, but it still annoys me to see the wrinkled/discolored spine alongside the perfect ones and think "I bought that new" - because I did! I preordered it from the shop in 1998 or whenever. One of maybe two or three games I ever preordered.
Her name is Mrs. Jaffe
Well I'm sorry Mrs. Jaffe - I am for real.
Does flicking a stick count as a button press? It‘s an input at least, but I understand if we’re getting semantic. Anyway, very specifically, a really tactile two-input combo: it feels great to hold down a button for a sustained note and transition out of that note with the specified directional analog stick flick (especially a diagonal) in Theatrhythm. It‘s one of those "wow this kind of does evoke the feeling of nailing an instrumental performance, even though I’m just an idiot with a controller" things
Our forums are inching scintillatingly close to inciting the new “Half A Press” controversy

This made me sadder than it should have (which is any sadness what so ever over someone else's plastic). Probably because I no longer have my copy or my Saturn and I don't know if I miss the actual game or the simplicity of my life when I played it.
I really wish the idea of a 15 hour AAA RPG took off.

they're probably tied in a way, and it might be both! emulating it might give you some more insight into the degree to which it is both (ha ha)

I was also wondering about this, specifically which of his videos did they pick?? Unfortunately it looks like the 2022 list is a lot more segmented than the 2012 one. That one just had pages and pages of ballots, but it was like 30-ish lists per page so it wouldn't take too long to Ctrl+F through them. Now it looks like each person's ballot has its own separate page and I'm afraid I'll never have the patience to click on thousands of lists.
Someone on reddit did the work of organizing the info: <https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1F6HMntP2scCHhAvFc77iHONhf4U0cKkXQY3zrfVZnXE/edit#gid=0>
Tim isn't on there, as far as I can tell from a few quick ctrl+fs
Jon Bois got a vote though. That's cool.
@“Jaffe”#p126066 Thank you and I am sorry. I've made the necessary edit.
