There’s a Mario party mini game that is face pulling just like sm64. I think it’s in the first or second game.

I played ICO and Shadow of the Colossus when they were new and that became my vision of the future of video games. It made me unable to enjoy Zelda Twilight Princess practically at all.
Then I was so sorely disappointed by the generations to come. That was my vision of the future of video games.
But then dark souls happened and elden ring happened and now it kind of did absolutely become the future of video games. It just took 20 years to come full circle to it again.
Actually froggy… the future of video games as you imagined it arrived in 2016

I stretched to 20 years for drama but the horse in dark souls is really something
Was always skeptical that it wouldn’t be as good as the first two after the temultuous development. Nothing will ever hit the same as SotC and ico did for me. But you’re right I still need to play it. Too bad it’s ps4 exclusive right. If it had actually released on ps3 I would have played it.
It definitely belongs with Ico and SotC. I would probably rank it between the two.

I wouldn’t presume to guarantee what kind of experience you’d have with it (or anything), but there’s an argument to be made that Trico is even better than Ico or Nico. I probably wouldn’t make that argument only because imo they exist apart from one another and are each worth playing (today, in 2024). It is a PS4/5 exclusive which is lousy, although Epic bought the company which means… someday…!

And I meant to say, more to your point about the future of video games, that in more than one way Trico still feels like that. As I understand it the trouble in development was mostly in translating the huge amount of work they did on PS3 over to PS4.

My first hour of The Last Guardian was like “this is just Ico but it has a dog”.
But by the end I was like “oh my god, this is Ico but it has a dog!”
