I‘ve got a Google Form thing going that will spit out other data I’ve asked for on to a spreadsheet, as well as still allow everyone to edit their responses after the fact. That in particular is pretty neat, that was the main reason I wasn't sure about using something like this.
I've sent it to LeFish already as an alpha tester, based on what they think I will either get some beta testers or just get the ball rolling for real.
Same with the mixtape exchange, that one is simpler and I think we can probably get both of these little projects going soon.
I remember being tied for having the second most “Insert Credit” taste on the Video & Game poll because almost none of my picks graduated beyond the honor roll (which was hilarious to me, because my picks really weren't all that weird), though I feel like my taste in video game music is way more generic, so everything I pick will probably end up on the actual list. Oh well!

I don‘t know how many people would agree with me, but I’d be in favor of expanding soundtrack beyond the OST of a single game to also include more amorphous stuff like the famous Hosono Video Game Music album or the Nintendo Sound Selection albums, which are official releases that include music from a bunch of games from a single company, including some sound effects as well. I don't actually know if this allowed by your rules already, but it seemed like the assumption was that a soundtrack only belongs to a single game.
I say this because I don't actually play that many video games anymore, so a lot of my engagement with game music in the last few years has been through these sort of "sound selection" albums. I guess I wonder how others feel about relaxing the rules to include any official releases of music that appeared on a game storage medium at some point? Or maybe we were already leaning towards letting everyone decide themselves what counts as a soundtrack?

i‘ve made a >10 longlist and i’m annoyed at how pedestrian it seems. but then i guess the insert credit thing of cheap/weird interesting/experiment games are unlikely to be the ones with really (expensive?) killer scores, aside from stuff like katamari and i guess evergrace?

My list is pretty pedestrian too. I think a list full of exclusively Mario and Final Fantasy titles would be pretty correct. I do have one indie. Give Dicey Dungeons a listen, it's pretty good stuff.
