Halo really does have a lot of beaches don’t it
Sonic Adventure set my expectations for easily accessible bustling beachfront metropolises way too high
I’m playing Natsumon to escape the cold. Kaz Ayabe games are honesty better during winter while remembering summer. Summer is for actually doing those things.
oh geez it’s on sale for switch. 60 bucks so far this thread has cost me
I did this during the GameCube era: SSX Tricky to chill down in summer and Waverace to warm up in the cold
I’m a certified winter freak. I live in Central New York now & I literally just walked a mile home in slush but I hate summer & I know the second it gets hot, I’ll find myself wishing for the cold & dreamy street lit snowy nights.
JRPGs are usually a great bet for that & I feel like there’s often a meditative plot point that takes place in those winter cities, often very comforting and/or dramatic like a good christmas movie. Off the top of my head: there’s Eternia in the Bravely Default games & Flanoir in the Tales of Symphonia games. I think Chained Echoes does an interesting thing where the more urban landscapes are wintery & the natural landscapes are summery.
I’m also thinking of I am Setsuna — where the whole game is snowy & dramatic as heck with like zero breaks. Though that’s less pulpy Christmas classic & more…dark holiday Lifetime TV movie.
