Yee I heard about him through Earl’s music. I like the fuzzy loops and how he weaves in and out of tempo. It’s a ways away but I got tickets to see him in May
I was looking for a streaming station on the ol’ Sonos that played “Madchester” music, and this came up. Ironically, it doesn’t play much from that specific genre but what it does play is a good selection of 80s music, a lot of which wasn’t big outside of the UK (I assume… if it was even big there at all).
And of course, it’s interspersed with very British ads for things like checking to make sure you’re not being ripped off by your timeshare.
They also do a thing where they have random trivia about 80s music, but then go on to play a song that’s COMPLETELY unrelated.
Here are some tracks I’ve heard them play:
(I did actually know this one, but it is very random and bears mentioning)
(An ABC song I’d never heard before)
(???)
(The song that’s playing right now)
It’s random, and I just fucking love it. So refreshing to hear an 80s station that isn’t laced with cliches like Bon Jovi, Queen and random one hit wonders that are on every 80s compilation.
Edit: I almost forgot one of my favourite things, the token stingers they play every hour or so. The best one is “From the decade that brought you Back to the Future and the ZX Spectrum!”
(apols for the ADHD-fuelled post)

Nice! I love Maston — I was listening to a few of their more eerie ones last night in a Halloween playlist.
