@“yeso”#p62113 So it's there by desine…
@“goonbag”#p62105 now you’re talkin!

they should make a game about having to get to a bathroom before having a diahrrea attack. maybe something like this already exists I wonder
@“yeso”#p62676 i feel like there's already about 10 endless runners with that premise in the app store right now

@“yeso”#p62676 One of the first Tim Rogers articles I read (that massive 2006 Fukubukuro) had an idea in there along those lines I think? He wanted a game that was under fifteen minutes long about a task like finding the toilet where you'd have dozens of different decisions along the way leading to different micro stories, so you could replay over and over and have hundreds of different bathroom finding experiences. (I might be completely misrepresenting this lol. I forget what point he was trying to make.)
@“yeso”#p62676 Sounds a bit like the classic 2009 flash game Don't Shit Your Pants to me.
it's hard for me to research this because I have difficulty spelling diarheea
Ever since smart phones have been a thing I‘ve wanted to see an AR FPS phone game. I’m a little surprised this has never happened, at least to my knowledge. I suppose something that plays like laser-tag Call of Duty would be the ideal, but I‘ve had some thoughts on implementation that would take (I’m guessing here. Not really a programmer.) a bit less coding wizardry and probably be about as fun. Here's the ideas some of the mechanics of it:
@“yeso”#p62676 if you get “bad ending” (ie some poop in pants), the game switches perspective to the partner who has to go and buy new underpants for the original protagonist
@“rootfifthoctave”#p62736 yes like a diablo corpse run
I have mentioned this before, but want some games based off of theater adaptations. Like, Shakespeare's Henriad tetralogy would be a fantastic JRPG (throw in Chimes at Midnight as a Falstaff DLC). Streetcar Named Desire is already basically an Otome. Jesus Christ Superstar could be the ultimate Strand type game.

Jesus Christ Superstar could be the ultimate Strand type game.
I want whatever granted you this vision, this power of Sight
McGuffin Hunt.
A triple-A open-world epic that drops all pretence and eschews the shitty amateur writing normally present in 90% of games. Instead, without the restrictions of plot or world building, the game just shouts orders at you like “go over there!” and “bring me five of the things!” in interesting but unrelated locations.
Money normally spent on ‘writers’ and all that other nonsense can be spent on adding _more graphics_ so that digital foundry can’t kill the game dead by pointing out that one part where the frame rate drops to 119fps.
Tell people the game has an innovative multiplayer element but don’t elaborate on that. Don’t include any multiplayer of any kind and once the game is released listen with joy to the nonsense theories people who have played the game have on Reddit and ResetEra about what the multiplayer component actually is. Pick the cleverest-sounding one, join the forum and tell the person they’re right.
Release a Switch port and a next-gen patch after a few months. They’re completely different games.
I'd love a Blue Highways game. http://www.bluehighwaysrevisited.net/index.html Something like Noctis IV but for obscure US roadways and towns. Yakuza style obsessive food options but with american diners, fast food chains, dive bars, and mexican restaurants. Van repair and upgrades (1978 Ford Econoline). Pathologic style conversation trees with people you meet. Enormous GTA type licensed music library. Somehow work Cocteau Twins in there. It would be the absolute inverse of Forza Horizon….
I want to see the Microsoft Flight Sim team make a Crazy Taxi game based on Street View. Just being dropped off in a random city to pick up passengers to deliver them to Pizza Hut and FILA Stores anywhere on earth.
@“Tradegood”#p63868 oh that would be neat, it could be free to play, and they could make their money through limited advertiser promotions.
Quick! Play our limited double point Subway event!
i‘m sure we’re all lousy with ideas for videogames. i‘m also sure that most videogame ideas are born, live, and die within the mind of a single person. how about instead we kick ’em around right here in this very thread?
i **won't** kick things off, in the belief that it would make the toilet bowl more inviting.
hmm, maybe if i didn't call it a toilet bowl... well, it's too late now!
