Insert Credit Art Jam

## > > This Week's Topic Is… Games discussed on the podcast at large!

/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\

Welcome to the Insert Credit Art Jam, the thread where you can create and share a piece of art based on a weekly rotating topic!

This is not necessarily a contest, but more like a weekly art challenge/show-and-tell. The plan is to introduce a new prompt every Sunday to make a piece of art to. To participate, you can simply post anything from a drawing, sculpture, crochet, animation, writing, a sick beat, heck, why not even a cake! You can post whenever you're finished, and I'm sure noone will mind if you're a bit late as this thread is all in good fun. Heck, if you're loving the prompt, post more than one! Send any suggestions you think would be fun to do in the next week, if you have any fun ideas!

To check out some of the older Jam's, click the links below and it will take you to the first submission from each week's topic.

### Minor Announcement!!

Hey everyone! Just back announcing the 3rd installment of this week's Jam. Thanks to all that participated this week!
I wanted to make this week's topic choice kind of interesting so instead of me choosing a topic myself, I used a random number generator. This is also a quick reminder that you can take a peek at all the suggestions that have been submitted so far if you check the links below! I'll be removing the suggestions once they have already been made, and if you see one that we've already done, just let me know if I missed deleting it.

So anyhow, without further ado...

@exodus#24287

DANG,
just saw this. Aw well, I can still send the next topic via randomly generated number next week if ya need it.

Either way, glad to see that all these new submissions! I'll take a closer look at em this week while I ponder what I'm gonna make for this week!

Come on and SLAM

And welcome to the JAM

well; here‘s what I got for last week’s topic. it’s a Plains from Magic: the Gathering!

the *plan* was to do a landscape for each of the five basic land types (plains, island, swamp, mountain, forest) but between back to back six day weeks at work and needing to edit a podcast, that fell through lol.

for this piece I used the color palette of an existing plains by Dana Knutson, and tried to go with my own composition based on these colors.

i don’t think mine would be printed on a card any time soon, but I don’t hate it!

@espercontrol#24752 Kinda feels like one of Van Gogh's wheat field paintings!

@espercontrol#24752 this is beautiful! The palette is so serene.

@espercontrol#24752 love this!!

Space!

I couldn't help but do another crossover here. I present Doomguy and Pikmin (lol)

@SuperEffective#25268 That’s great! I especially like the look of abject terror on the red pikmin’s face. I also like to imagine Doom Guy with a little toy whistle at the ready at all times.

Moonside Lake is my favorite place/space in Bloodborne. Here I'm channeling the Cosmos/Space under the Moonlight on the Moonside Lake. Soundscape is Moonlight Sonata III stretched out 40x. Doubt anyone can listen to the whole thing haha.

Edit: I just realized that I subconsciously ripoff Other Places haha.

@KennyL#25340 This is fantastic, at once therapeutic and horrifying (in an appropriately cosmic way), though I haven’t experienced the whole thing yet! I also like the interpretation of the concept of “space”—Bloodborne really played with the idea in all of its senses, and this was one of the most striking. I’m not sure if you are aware, but Lynch did something similar musically during one of the most arresting scenes in Twin Peaks season 3 (spoiler warning, I suppose).

@KennyL#25340 wow. This is awesome and so creative. Love it.

I'm afraid that due to time (and talent) constraints all I might be able to muster this week is an asset flip of last week's submission with a hint of Curry…please enjoy (with all due apologies…I promise this took me longer than it looks)

@kory#25342 Thank you. I haven't watched Twin Peaks season 3 yet but pretty interesting what he did for that scene!

@kory#25414

Its the sequel! This reminds me of 90s video graphics on most school videos.

it makes me happy that he looks happy, to be going to space

Playing around with the idea of space I landed on a cool etch-a-sketchy effect on my iPad just making straight white vertical and horizontal lines and erasing them. Ended up with a bit of a seaside scene but I find it pretty spacey anyway!

Okay here’s my submission! Graphite pencil and watercolors on cold press watercolor paper

@Squit#25485 whoa, that's a really sweet technique! I like the play of reduction and addition.

@CidNight#25507 I got a little mezmerized by staring into the pupil for too long
