Intergalactic Discussion

Surely gotta be my favorite song by the Beastie Boys

I always liked this one the most.

But overall Paul’s Boutique album is probably their best album.

Is Intergalactic a sure shot?

Intergalactic rules! I’ve always been bad at picking favorites but it’s definitely a strong contender.

This post reminded me of this old school Ren track from two years ago, which is drippin’ with Beastie Boys influence.

It’s a great song, one of their best no doubt. But if I had to pick the best from Hello Nasty has to be Body Movin’ (The Fatboy Slim remix).

It does also contain one of my favourite lines of theirs, which I have mentioned before here in our last Beastie Boys conversation:

“Like a bottle of Châteauneuf-du-Pape/I’m fine like wine when I start to rap”

The video for Intergalactic is something else though.

I love music videos with people walking down the street and it’s clear they just went out there and filmed, because people passing by are like “what the heck?”

@LeFish brought this to my attention when the forums last did a music playlist secret Santa thing (in summer). I find this song hilarious, and the video is amazing to me because I live here. The restaurant he goes through at the beginning is like a bougie brunch place now. For me, watching the video like stepping into another dimension, another dimension, another dimension.

Here is a short demo version of Intergalactic.

Sabotage is the Beastie Boys song that features in not one, but two Star Trek films.

That is because Star Trek takes place entirely within the Milky WayÂą and and cannot be considered Intergalactic.

Âą - some minor exceptions apply
