Joshua - Panther Software, Inc., 1992

strategy game with obsessively detailed weird iron age tanks and zeppelins etc

100 + pages of made up history and technical detail packed in the with game. Thanks Panther Software for throwing this on archive dot org although may not have needed this high res (10 GB lol), then again your work does deserve to be respected

Earth Winds, or アースウインズ by SystemSoft beta. An old game for Windows 95/98 that featured music from Yoko Kanno. No footage exists that I can find beyond an AVI on the website, which still exists!

Pyrrhic Tales: Prelude To Darkness - Zero Sum Software, 2002

Very little info about this other than intriguing impressions (super deep, dark, hardcore rpg etc) and I like the weird look

I believe the developers released the source code so I guess I could play it, but I believe the only ethical way to obtain software is to purchase it from a corporation. Maybe someone with loose morals can check it out

One of the first PC demos I had was for a game called DogDay (1996). I remember the demo being basically a point-and-click adventure game within a very run down house. I think you play a dog?

Look at the textures on the cover. What is that man wearing? (Mobygames)

In this case, the cover is very close to the aesthetic of the actual game.

I don’t know much about it, since we never got the full game. To my knowledge, it has never been ported or optimized for a modern platform. The main footage I can find from the game is this video. It’s some 1990s nonsense:

But at least it has an arcade game, a few years before Shenmue did it.
