Mug check

Having a triple espresso out of a near-indestructable mug that I stole from my grad school cafeteria 15 years ago.

What’s your weapon of choice for espresso?

I use a De’Longhi Dedica EC680M. I’m sure there are solutions that make better espresso, but this is the one I have, and it’s super easy to use/clean.

Currently drinking Some Sheka, Haile Estate Ethiopian light roast, but I’m almost out.

EDIT: Fair trade, of course

I have the exact same machine and think for the price, ease of maintaining and quality it’s one of the best around by a long way.

Enjoy your morning. Cin cin!

Yes, I’ve had it for about 3 years now with zero issues. I do recommend it to people when they ask, but I always qualify it by saying I don’t know enough about espresso machines to know how it ranks. Maybe I’ll start leaving that part out!

Delonghi make amazing machines, and almost everyone I know with a coffee machine have one of their models without any complaints. When it goes (as it is used a lot) may consider one of their all in one machines just to save some space in the kitchen.

Enjoy another for me - it’s after lunch so I had my last one of the day!

Also is that something you can order online to the EU? While my usually coffee is illy classico, I always like to try something new as variety is the spice of life.

Actually it’s paprika

I’m not sure. I got it from Brewing Good Coffee Co., which is a US-based vegan coffee shop that gives a portion of proceeds to animal charities. I’m not sure if they ship internationally.

That said, the coffee itself came from Ethiopia, so I imagine it is not US-exclusive. I’m sure you can find a place that sells high-quality single-origin fair trade coffees near you.

I’ll keep an eye out for sure, I usually prefer blends but if it’s good I’ll drink it. I always found them a bit fruitier than others but tastes change and maybe it’ll be a nice refresher for me.

The single origin roasts I like are definitely fruitier. That’s why I like them.

Do you take sugar with it?

I only ask as when I drunk fruitier coffee I did take sugar but when I gave it up in hot drinks I found the taste wasn’t as good, which is why I prefer a bitter taste.

Usually no sugar. Sometimes I’ll make it Cuban style.

The one I’ve been sticking with for the past few days. A King of Games X Songbird collab mug! Nice memories of acquiring it are tied to it, plus it’s just a great mug.
