Mug check

nice little oblong shape there

I noticed the tapered top makes it difficult to have any accidental spills from bumping/carrying. It’s a very pleasing shape.

when i first moved out, i bought one of those wide bottomed mugs (took me forever to find the right google term) at a thrift store because i thought it looked like something a wizard would drink from, not realizing they were best suited for traveling or boating to prevent spillage:

They are also ideal for raktajino.

Picked this up from an artist in Malmö. It holds almost double what my other mugs do, which is both a blessing and a curse.

This is a top-three tea for me for sure.

Unordered top-3:

  • Genmaicha
  • Oolong
  • Gunpowder green

With mint and sugar for a nice maghrebi mint tea? My second favourite way to take tea.

My general move is to over-steep tea by accident because I got distracted by something that urgently needed to happen in the kitchen or with the family. So there’s no way that I’m adding steps to tea.

That’s the beauty of maghrebi mint tea - it’s supposed to sit there for quite a long time and absorb all those lovely mint flavours! Put your mint, sugar and tea in a pot or cup and drink it when you can.

I can relate to distractions for tea though. I’m allowed five minutes to make a cuppa when I do. Can’t risk the fear of making bad tea!

Don’t leave us hanging! What’s your #1?

In the office today so got to bust out my thermos to bring coffee with me. Trying a new roast called Shadow Play from my fav local coffee roaster, Highwire. It’s good, a darker roast than what they usually do.

In Memoriam

This was my favourite mug. I got it a few years ago on holiday. We were passing through a small town with a cheese factory and stopped in at their shopfront, which also sold some other local goods including a range of pottery. Sadly, I put it too close to an edge, one of the kids bumped it, and here we are. Perhaps I’ll pass through that town again someday.
