Woke up early enough to make the coffee. Clear mug doesn’t get enough play in my house so, good morning, clear mug. Good morning, Snorlax mug.

I’m not going to tell anybody not to use the word mug, but a semi grumpy restaurant owner I worked with clarified to me that a mug implies a vessel that is not meant to be used with a saucer. I called one of our coffee cups (this same style) a mug and was promptly corrected.

Anyway, my 24 oz of pourover to fuel my open-close doubles

While grumpy restaurant owner may have a point, I wonder how many times they gave someone a cup of coffee in a mug when said person had asked for a cup of coffee.

I want to see the court case for grumpy restaurant owner vs. cup of tea!

This mug my mother in law got for me at a local craft show some years ago. I keep my watercolor pencils in it. She knew my eccentric taste. She has dementia now and doesn’t remember getting it for me but it’s still special to me as a reminder of who she used to be. Also mugs are a fun thing to buy on vacation, I like to do that.
