Space Blood- A two piece band from Chicago that has since split but, my goodness, could they put on a live show. By far my favorite shows. This is tame for sure but a tight live recording of them.

Snooze - Familiaris. A post rock, mathy, beautiful concept album about the life of a dog. From the first listen to playing it right now, I don't skip a single track and I recommend listening to it with a nice sound set up when you have 34 minutes. It's a wonderful journey and will more often than not get me choked up missing my late pup.
@treefroggy#24511 Down. You free this weekend?!
edit: This is great — Love hearing that album with a live drummer. The sped up version of Siniestro del Jefe towards the end is dope, too — Everyone freaks out. Thanks for sharing.
@milo#21758 Yup. His career has been incredibly solid over the years. Not that fan but what he's done has been certainly unique (Africa is an underrated continent in that regard, specially if you go into it) and that is specially true in rock, folk and jazz music.
i know i already posted about this channel but this set of italian obscurities is extremely chill

I was at the ska punk show that took place for free on the venice beach boardwalk for the second time this month. I was at the first one too, cause I love Venice and I love ska! Right in front of the MTV cribs / snapchat beach mansion, in front of the sand and the water and the mountains and the sky and the palisades fire visible.

@milo#21758 I saw them live in 2019! They were amazing!
@tombo#28764 This might be one of the best things that has happened to Youtube for a while, and not only for Italian but also for A LOT of obscure music.
Btw, two recs now that I'm here:

luis alberto spinetta is definitely not unknown but I‘ve never met an english language rock music liker who knew of him. Lot’s of 70s “classic rock” chaff but he‘s got some great downbeat psych songs. I know we have a few neil young fans on the forum who’d probably be into this….

Spinetta‘s first band ’Almendra' also has a lot of great songs

(and this one has my name on it lol)
And on that note I would like to recomend Eduardo Mateo's album 'Mateo Solo Bien Se Lame' (1972)
the whole album has a very unique production style and some incredible songs

heck yeah
This tape has become sorta well known but I remember it first making the music obsessive rounds a while back and it sure was a mind blower

yes that aby ngana diop record kicks an insane amount of ass, just unbelievably good….
people new to this album make sure to listen beyond the first track
My buddy Jxhx Doe who played drums in one of my hardcore punk bands The Uglies has been doing this project called Museum of Natural History. He‘s such a talented composer and probably the best musician I’ve ever met that never had any formal training. If y‘all are looking for some chill VGM that isn’t actually from a video game, I highly reccomend:

Also if you like snotty australian hardcore punk that no-one ever cared about you can check out The Uglies too. I played bass in this band:

that uglies record is indeed good
@yeso#30992 Thank you. I was in a few moderately succesful bands, but this is the record I'm most proud of being a part of.
@treefroggy#32572 blasting “Death Chamber” right now
ah man I need to catch up on this thread but I thought I would share this excellent embarrassing y2k oddity.

Unfortunately looks like you've got to click through to hear it since it's one of those kinds of videos, but this is the band Britney Spears was part of in her youth before she went solo (1997). She never recorded anything with them, and this song/album came out 3 years later.
The lyrics are incredibly embarrassing (double click on a brand new thang) and this band is the ultimate in caucasian y2k-ness (a legion of karens is still trying to get this look together), but I have to admit that www.fan-ta-see is a pretty catchy choral hook.
Basically nobody knows this song or band exists even though there's that britney connection. Well, now you can have the experience of rhyming www.fan-ta-see with www.come-to-me and that is worth a lot in my opinion.
