Potential Podcast Guests

i‘d like to hear from Paolo Pedrecini (Molleindustria) and Auriea Harvey (TaleOfTales); the things you talked about in the What's Wrong With Videogames? episode makes me think you’d have enough in common.

edit: oh! also porpentine

Resurrecting this thread because we're always happy to take more guest suggestions!

Maybe Cassidy from Bad Game Hall of Fame. They do some of my favorite writing about video games!

There's also [Heidi Kemps](https://twitter.com/Zerochan) who does [This Week in Games on Anime News Network](https://www.animenewsnetwork.com/the-x-button/) in addition to freelance reviews and used to run [Gaming.moe](http://gaming.moe)

They both seem like cool people who have deep knowledge of video games and could be fun guests

I‘ve said it in another thread but I’ll take this opportunity to suggest inviting Heather Anne Campbell back. She's so funny and charming and good at talking about games.

    Erik Wolpaw (&? Chet Faliszek)

@yeso#23762 dia would be a little hilarious because I remember specifically when tim dropped his FF7R review she went on a whole twitter thread about how nobody needs to talk that long about anything in games and this guy needs an editor, lol

having leigh alexander back again would be great, she was on so long ago i had to double check it had actually happened and i really miss the vibe of her old youtube channel.

the youtuber thorhighheels might be good too, their guiding interest seems to be in niche games with idiosyncratic mechanics a la at least one facet of IC (often covering ones i don't remember ever coming up on the pod), with experience in level design and composing, iirc. and they seem prone to a high octane energy that might help occasion one of those cold sweat, buzzer-beater types of episodes

@chazumaru#4278 i seem to remember from the abroad episode that @exodus knows some interesting folks in korea's gaming community, i think that could be a really cool perspective to add to the mix.

The only problem with getting folks from Korea is the fast and furious nature of the podcast is a bit tough to follow for folks who are esl - that said, I'd be willing to try! It might be good for a “phone a friend” style segment.

I miss Idle Thumbs so maybe Chris Remo, et al. Also Nina Freeman, Allegra Frank, Steve Gaynor, spikevegeta, Wario64.

I really miss the Video Games Hot Dog podcast so it would be a real treat to hear from one of the Asymmetric folks or Jim Stormdancer again. I also just recently learned that there is some spicy new Frog Fractions DLC, so that might have jumped to the top of my to-play queue.

@exodus#23818 yeah, i think this would be worth attempting! giving the guest the questions before hand might help. but i also want to say that not every episode necessarily needs to be intense and fast paced. i think strict adherence to the 10 question formula was much more important when it was the same 4 people every episode. now that tim‘s not around and every episode has a guest, it might sometimes be ok to just chat if that might be more up the particular guest’s alley.

though leave it up to Jaffe! he can probably figure something out

I‘d love for you to have Jackson Tyler on, I’ve enjoyed their commentary on games through the Abnormal Mapping podcast. Also I‘m always going to push for more fighting game guests. Maybe Erin, as an expert on obscure and strange fighting games, as they are always running wild tournaments for things I have NEVER heard of and are a pleasure to watch. Patrick Miller was such an incredible guest on the show, and I’d be happy to see more of him whenever the schedule allows. I‘m sure you’ll bring on someone incredible no matter what, though!

@yeso#23762 I know for a fact that Alex was told by tim that he should be on the podcast. But that was months ago, and, well.

Anyway, seconded, to all of your suggestions!

I don't know if this is possible but I think Maddy Thorson would make an excelent guest for the show

This is gonna sound like a weird cop-out, but I have no suggestions for podcast guests – mostly because selfishly I would rather you introduce me to new and interesting people I don't already know about rather than hear the same voices in five different places!

(I love everyone else suggesting people however, because that also works towards my goal of being presented with new and interesting people)
