We’re 5 days in to the November basho, long enough for the win-loss records to diverge and form a vaguely useful leader board, with these guys all at 5-0:
…then there’s a bunch at 4-1 and beyond. I fully expect this to look different even in only a few days, at the end of the full first week – let alone deep in to the tournament.
As a Hoshoryu fan, I’m happy to see him start well this time. The last few tournaments he has had a real rough first week, losing matches he “should” win.
He was looking good in today’s match against Wakatakakage:
PWHL second season stared today and the teams have names now! Highly encourage any other hockey fans to watch your local PWHL team—last season was a blast and all the new teams/jerseys look absolutely wonderful
Exciting! I watched a handful of games last year (they’re free on YouTube fyi everyone) and they were all great. Hope we get some west coast expansion!
kind of having a lot of fun with the NBA this year, frankly in spite of the product they put on tv. I know this is by no means novel, but my god does the NBA seem to have the most evil money in it.
my good friends at the united arab emirates are sponsoring the in season tournament, and every memphis grizzlies game is on the fanduel sports network. bummer!
At least the grizzlies are utterly electric to watch and if anyone wants to get into this season and doesn’t have a team, i highly encourage pulling up a ja morant highlight video.
It’s so funny to me that they really went with this name. A few years ago I watched sports on Fox sports Midwest. Then it was Bally Sports, now it’s FanDuel Sports. Evil tv network to casino to sports betting app. Honestly we’re just lucky it’s not Dogecoin Sports or some shit
