i could use its healing energy right now
This EGM cover always comes to mind when nostalgia for the Sega CD flows through my veins.

Beautiful…
Love the screenshots overlaid on the reflective surface of the CDs. Very tasteful
Yep, that‘s a big part of it, I think. I don’t actually know which game is in the upper CD, though. Any idea?
While not explicitly the Sega you're looking for, these three new or reproduced products arrived in my mailbox within the last 3 days

Also 90% sure that disc is vay? But maybe a prototype version or something weird??
(further inspection reveals maybe it's just a similar scene and maybe not necessarily an indication of a prototype)

what the heck it's me and yasuhara x 2
No, Vay came out in ‘93, and I don’t think EGM would have had access at the time. Looking up the issue on archive.org, it seems to be Fhey Area (which they mistakenly called “Faria”, which is the same title as an NES RPG by Game Arts, so they must have thought it was related.)

Fhey Area was a launch game for the system by Wolf Team. It's pretty cool! Was not localized, sadly.
It is kinda funny how similar the castle rooms look. Early '90s RPGs, man.
To liven things up, here's a funny Master System game cover I saved. I can just keep dipping back into the same well and finding more weird stuff to post in this thread. But somebody else should join in!

Oh wow, yeah… you can see how I might make the error, tiny castles have a way of looking similar!!
anyway:

I only just last week realized there was an official arranged Sega Channel track on the Virtual Sonic album.

I loved Sega Channel's music. A personal favorite being the Family Room/Club Sega theme.

Now if only there was a way I could inject games and themes into the original hardware.
Wait, Sega Channel had music???
I mean, of course it did! Why wouldn't it?
Oof, those SOA sound driver sounds...
@Personasama#2553 I agree, but something about those sounds felt right on the Sega Channel every time it would load up.
Not my photo, but I have one of these and treasure it

Hard to sound more SEGA than this. Be healed!

More things: the first game I played on the Mega SG was Virtua Racing because I hate myself:
