Last Week Tonight with John Oliver was kind enough to explain a lot more about tariffs with his classic British sense of humour, but also feature Nintendo (cut to where it starts in the episode):

I love how upset he is, that he can’t actually talk about what he wants to talk about because of all the other sillyness in the world. And clearly they have been inspired by @esper for truly perfect sound effect editing!

I haven’t gotten to the end of the episode, but if it’s on Last Week Tonight you know it’s going to be entertaining! When they have a story which is like the main part of the episode they need something happier to cheer us all - and he never disappoints.

then I won’t spoil the hilarious wonderful stunt they do for this fish doorbell. but its really good.

vpns work but its really frustrating especially since they upload the bulk of episodes in their main story every time for the USA as well

Finally say the last part of the episode! Wow, just so much to unpack from those 10 minutes and non-stop laughing. I do love it when they go all out on a last segment, especially after stories which aren’t exactly happy.

Reminds me of the Cake Bear thing they did:

(I really don’t like the fact that each episode I’ve shared has “Trump” in the title, it’s really not intentional)

Me: Text box, all I need is for you to keep the text that I type.

Text box: What if I make the numbers fancy with superscripts?

Me: Fine, whatever, let’s just get this done.

Okay I can get how it could stick the five up there, but how did the t come along with it? Does it think “5t” is an exponent with a variable?

I don’t know. I enter the 5. I enter the t. I enter the h. Perfection, right?

Then I hit space and it does that.

My only guess is that it thinks I’m writing in French or a similar language (where the ordinal is ordinarily one letter, e.g., 5e).
