**_This is a thread dedicated to all the videogame skeletons._**
The good & bad, the spooky, the evil beautiful skellingsters out there.
### _**LORE:**_
Yesterday I happened to start a Twitter thread sharing some of my favorite skeletons in gaming, and also a couple I found along the way while compilating the different screenshots/pictures. Then it occurred to me this would make a fun thread to do here where we could share some oldies and obscure ones in the signature Insert Credit way. So, shoot away! Make ME witness of YOUR picks.
**Disclaimer 1**: I did take a couple of the ones @"Kimimi"#156 showed in her halloween 2021 thread [here](https://twitter.com/_Kimimi/status/1443993290194423808) (the Grandia and the Vagrant Story ones, specifically). The credit for those and the respective gifs goes to her!
**Disclaimer 2**: This wasn't an elaborate PR stunt to plug in Necrosoft's hottest new release, Demonschool. That idea only came to around 10 minutes ago [while I was having my second coffee for the day](https://twitter.com/JoJoestar/status/1546406405166534657) lol
My favorites will always be the skeleton warriors from “Golden Axe” and instantly realizing as a kid that they were a reference to “Jason and the Argonauts”. Plus, they come out from underneath the feathers of a giant eagle and carry shields with skulls on them. How cool is that?
@“Kelzor”#p77726 Yeah! Murray got suggested to me by some people while I was working on the thread. The thing is, I haven't played Monkey Island 3 yet :_D, so to me it looks a bit like just a cool stylized skull at this point. Should really fix that!
@"Gaagaagiins"#p77728 Yyyyyeaaaah, Sir Daniel Fortesque and Morte were indeed on my thread, those are some of my favorites! Dry bones on the other hand are just too annoying, sorry, no love for those. As far as annoying regenerating skeletons I'm partial to the red ones in Castlevania.
On the subject of Castlevania skeletons, Flying Skeleton from Aria of Sorrow with its flying kicks Kamen-Rider-style it's one of the best encounters in the game.
@rejj Man that first one in particular is what I'm looking for!! what a good little dude. Speaking of Ultima, I'm partial to the Ultima Underworld ones, the ones in the PSX version in particular are so good.
By the way, there is a fun easter egg involving them and the excellent Skeleton costume for Mario, which can be purchased post-ending with 9999 coins. You can use this costume instead of the traditional Mexican costume to get accepted in their secret fiesta.
The Undead Hero from **Guardian Heroes** is another Mount Rushmore candidate. He appears at the very end of Chapter I and joins the heroes from Chapter II, becoming a companion (story-wise) and programmable A.I. sidekick (gameplay-wise) for the rest of your quest. And his theme – or at least [the theme that starts when he joins the group](https://youtu.be/14XxwoYTXQk) – kicks ass.
What a cutie. I love me a good skeleman and I fell in love with this guy as soon as I booted up the game.
Funny side note... I love Suda 51 and his games. Let It Die came out on my birthday and I had previously not even heard about it. So getting up that day and discovering it first thing was like a neat little birthday gift to me.

Did anyone else wander into the Tomb of the Giants, see one of these and immediately nope the heck out of there? I sure did.
Here are some bickering skulls from Majora's Mask.
The audio in this thirteen year old video is of the crunchiest quality, so: it is best to turn the volume all the way up and watch within earshot of people who really don't wish to be disturbed by blown out N64 noises.

But I really dig that frame composition when the king starts talking to Link.
My advice to the folks in the skulltula house, in which a family has been cursed to turn into skulltulas, is this: hey man, let it happen. Skulltulas are pretty cool!
I wish we knew (do we know??) who voiced that hilarious cry Mr. Skulltula and the Skulltula Jrs make when you slash at their bellies. I know twelve year old me just wanted to keep slashing after hearing it once lol
