yeah, that’s pretty apt. the only thing i’d modify to your analogy is its more like a greasy gooey cheeseburger compared to an overcooked steak. the wire is fine, but it lacks an essence the shield is closer to capturing in its “sweat, piss, ****, and blood” attitude.
but goddamn the show is so stupid and yeah at it’s core is coppaganda too.
Gilmore Girls is wonderful—I was exactly the right age for it growing up and was just utterly enamored by it and like, as you age you begin to see Lorelei and Rory for who they really are and it adds extra dimensions
I just finished the show Say Nothing on FX/Hulu. A more dedicated historian of the Irish Republican Army may have comments to make on the accuracy and all that, but I really enjoyed it. It was propulsive and entertaining without feeling like it was being made for the lowest common denominator
I watched the first two parter ep of Star Trek TNG and had a blast. I feel like common consensus is that the early portions of this show suck but I’m gonna stick with it and watch 'em. My first real Trek experience outside of the Pine/Quinto/Saldana etc movies.
Her and Lorelei take turns being immature and petty tbh, I sometimes think Lorelei acts more like a kid than her daughter. However in my experience this is not inaccurate to real life.
We’re barely in season 2 and my two greatest wishes are for Lorelei and Luke to finally date and for Rory and Paris to finally be friends. I’m worried these storylines are gonna get messed up, but no spoilers please
