while this is absolute clown behaviour i do understand why a lawyer would love The Wire and not get Twin Peaks at all. i bet this dude loves True Detective but only season 1.

i didn’t even say Twin Peaks was the best show of all time or anything - he just asked me to name any show I thought was better than The Wire and I said TP because I knew he hadn’t seen it and I thought it’d end the conversation :smiling_face_with_tear:

Two more things

  • his pop culture knowledge pretty much begins and ends with whatever Bill Simmons tells him to think - “isn’t that a little gen x?” I asked him
  • I actually don’t know that he does environmental law anymore bc he joined a Big Law firm and other friends tell me he’s a sellout, though I don’t really know what that means exactly

We just finished The Pitt and my goodness what a show! I would sleep on a bed of glass for Dr. Melissa King.

That show was intense! I was glad we discovered it when it was finished because I would not have been able to wait week to week. I do think there are a lot of annoying small things about the show–particularly how clumsily it often dealt with current events and politics. Like, I think a show like Scrubs had more subtlety when it touched on Very Serious Topics.
But that’s my only real criticism of the show! Dr King was such a wonderfully delightful character.
