Tell me anything

I have never bought nor tried the Sleepytime tea before. I just bought a box, and have brewed my first ever cup.

Here’s hoping I end up like that real comfy looking snoozing bear soon enough

The emergent theme of 2024, for me, is nuns.

Earlier this year I read the really long part of Les MisƩrables all about nuns.

Last month I read Henry James’ The American, in which the Carmelite convent in Paris ended up playing a significant part.

This one is on me but yesterday I wanted to watch a Jacques Rivette movie under three hours, of which there are quite a few but the one I picked was of course The Nun.

Today I started reading The Tombs of Atuan, which lo and behold is essentially about the nuns of Earthsea.

Indika is the coolest game out this year.

Might have to play through Bayonetta in the nun costume to round things out.

I just watched Le Pupille the other day, to add to the (unintentional) nun theming.

Becoming that snoozing bear is a life goal of mine.

I recently figured out that with my oven, if you turn it to broil and then turn it back to another temperature, it will heat to that temperature using the top heating element instead of the bottom one. Nobody ever told me any oven did this.

Isn’t that what broiling is? Heat from above?

I suppose so, but nobody ever told me you could adjust the temperature of an oven broiling. I was taught to keep a close eye on anything broiling because it would burn quickly.

While the oven in my mom and dad’s place where I live now let’s you set a specific temperature on the Broil setting, the previous oven in my apartment only had two settings for broil, Low and High. Perhaps only newer or more fully featured ovens even give you that option.

Oh, wait, ok, I see what you’re saying, I just had to read it a few times. That kinda sounds like it might just be a strange quirk of a particular oven rather than a standard feature of ovens. I could be wrong, though. I’ve never heard that either and I’m not sure what it would be used for.

Oh wait, so ā€œbroilā€ is on the temperature dial? I understand now!

It’s this way on mine too!!! I guess I’ve exposed myself as someone who doesn’t broil very often…

I know it’s not the 90s, but I just learned you can push ā€œUpā€ while playing Klax to toss a tile back on the conveyor about halfway up. :exploding_head:

I think AMD’s releasing ryzen 9000 series cpus in July. No idea what pricing is going to be like, but worth looking into when you get back from your trip.
