The original S.T.A.L.K.E.R. Trilogy received a free enhanced edition update.

Some of the Steam reviews donât seem very happy with this release. Like, theyâre being accused of revising parts of the game due to an anti-Soviet bias. They seemed to have also removed the Russian VA. Some people just donât seem happy with the look or the performance either.
I havenât been following any of this, I just had a glance at the Steam reviews because they were Mixed. Seems like an odd controversy. I canât think of the last game that had to deal with anti-Soviet accusations. Usually the anti-Sovietness just comes baked in!
I donât know at what point they unlisted the original games from Steam, but thatâs also kind of a jerk move.

Ah, that sucks. I liked the original games way back when and they became increasingly instable to play on newer systems so this seemed like good news at first.

fwiw the originals of all three of those older Stalker games are available on GOG which means they should be fully playable on modern PCs.

Yâknow Iâve always said Iâd never budge on Game Pass unless they added the Atari 2600 masterpiece Dolphin. Just didnât seem like that great of a value without it. Guess I gotta put my money where my mouth is now

Nice to know. It sucks I wasnât able to play the original Stalker and weâre being fed these on the side without being able to choose.
Also, as for the XBox classics: not going to play those while Microsoft is contributing to the genocide, so⊠Fuck them.

Theyâre not. It looks like you get both versions no matter which one you initially buy which is nice.
