@treefroggy not enough gold to be master chief so it’s really more of a frog green, especially with the 3DS’s frog-like binocular cameras. &;
I‘m hoping Nintendo will make a new console that’s compatible with the 3DS.
@bwood that would be wild. 3DS-TV. 4DS. nintendo SwitchDS
@connrrr I sure would like to rotate that
@connrrr Rusty’s real deal?
@treefroggy oooooo this is reminding me of the metallic limited edition pokemon celebi green gba i had back in the day that i loved so well
Finally modded my n3ds xl, red viper so good! 3d effect is super nifty. It's pretty interesting that 3d slider actually controls depth of the whole 3d stage, not the amount of 3d, so setting it to the lowest level would pull the stage closer and make things pop out. Panic Bomber looks so good like this with things floating. I like this setting best but the center stage is different game to game so ymmv.
Also finally got to play 3d Street of Rage. OMG perfect little diorama through this magical screen. Amazing.
I really gotta get this virtual boy emulator going before Nintendo comes after it. But I have no time!! Aaah.
Natsukashii that old 3DS thing from when we were all kids eleven years ago.
@chazumaru Nintendo of Japan knows exactly what they’re doing
I love the direction of their commercials this generation.
I recently moved into a new apartment and somewhere in here I have some kind of sd card reader I can plug into my laptop specifically for 3ds things, and I cannot find it, and the search is not, dear reader, making me happy. I've been wanting this 3ds vb thing for a minute! gah!
I got my minty New 3DS from japan and the screens don't appear to be yellow! Heavens be praised!!!
@treefroggy hell yeah!!!
System transfer becomes a lot more impossible/complicated when you also did a region transfer first by the way.
So what I’m gathering is that if I want to play games online or generally have less problems, it would be better to just deal with 3ds system menus all being japanese and using the cfw to play US games region free. This is a moderate inconvenience, though japanese system gui is cool so that’s the bright side.

@treefroggy
Yeah, ended up just leaving mine in Japanese instead of messing with it. The region mod seemed like more trouble than it was worth to me.
@mindleftbody there is also no way, once the machine is reflashed to your region of choice, to just do a “system transfer” from the previous reason. it’s messy, dangerous, and most of all, a pain in the ass that requires tons of extra software and python scripts. a lot of work. I’m disappointed but I’ll just have to dump all CIAs and reinstall them on the new console.
Here’s the math:
I got this console for $208, in near mint condition.
A US console would have cost $50 more and been in much worse shape.
Transferring with this extremely hacky way, could be like $50+ of time/work haha
I could see since the 3DS online service is ending, a homebrew system transfer solution being created sooner rather than later, since system transfers require the use of nintendo servers.
just remembered something from my 3DS hacking days. this is like the sort of thing I joined this forum in order to share:
whenever I hacked a New 3DS for a customer, and they said throw some SNES games on there, I always included SYVALION, especially when it was a DS for their child. Circle pad controls are great for SYVALION!
I take it back, this new 3ds screens are yellow compared to my OG3DS. But it’s evenly spread so not as distracting
Was playing some of that DQVII remake today and yeah those are good 3DS grafix. Very sharp and the textures are more detailed than a lot 3DS stuff tends to be. It’s pretty wild viewing it next to the DQM remake which has a more middle of the road 3DS look. Clearly lots more money went into VII haha
