AH! I remembered it.
Mariachi Entertainment System should cover……
DRAGON QUEST III OVERWORLD THEME: ADVENTURE (DAIBOUKEN)!!!
it would be so perfect in their style…… I would cry. I will tweet at them about this.
There also seems to be a DIRTH of acoustic covers of this song from what I'm seeing, which is odd because DQIII may be the most overrated in the series!

@“treefroggy”#p134838 You‘re right that Dragon Quest doesn’t have much of a presence in the VGM scene… Tons of FF but no DQ! I figure that's the western bias speaking.
This got me thinking again about one of my favorite channels who covers _Dragon Quest_ music incredibly frequently. I've linked her here before, but I'll do it again because good music doesn't stop being good. Here's two instances of her performing the _Dragon Quest III_ overworld music (the second being a phenomenal full-OST medley):

Then here's an extra bonus video of some _Dragon Quest IV_ music, since you and I both share this as our favorite in the series (and her Alena cosplay is so cute!):

there‘s plenty of DQ love with acoustic covers, of course not as much as others, but especially there’s been plenty of people in this thread posting DQ covers, by japanese artists mostly. I just noticed a lot of the DQIII medleys I found just didn‘t have the overworld theme at all! thanks for sharing. probably part of my problem is I don’t usually search with kana unless I'm trying to find something really obscure.
Another banger from The Consouls.

And Armored Core: Verdict Day on the Shamisen.

Underplayed! Probably about to be covered in FFVIIRb!

@“the rocky connrrr picture show”#p135403 GSC had some pretty tunes.
understatement of the century
@“treefroggy”#p136259 lol Emerald swept me right off my feet after I played Crystal so I didn't take the time to stew in its OST! I like being reminded that yes it did indeed rock.
The MVP of this thread is done with her project so there is now a full 2 hours video archive of Kara Comparetto’s Chrono Trigger available for free on the Youtube.

Another phenomenal arrangement from the 8-Bit Big Band.

The Counsouls radio included music from THUNDER FORCE around the one hour 20 minute mark!!!

Metal Heads rejoice! We‘re making a major exception and posting this electric guitar metal cover because it is exceptional and I like it.

This guy does indian covers, so it’s indian metal.
It‘s not an electric sitar, but it could be. Instead it’s a six string electric guitar.
The visuals are amazing.
The original game had a rock cover version when you eat a happy fruit and become happy, so it‘s not just metal for metals sake.
It’s just got that extra oomph of passion and being extremely appropriate and what needed to be done.
@"the rocky connrrr picture show"#502 oh cool I wasn't subscribed to 8bit wave, very good. Last night the last train home from work ran into a car accident at 11pm and I had to ride my bike home the rest of the way like 45 mins, I was blasting a similar acoustic jazz cover of FFXIII Pulse de Chocobo while arriving home hehe!
ok so bottom line is folk metal is good
HMMM good thing I'm not invading the new n64 thread with these epic n64 covers eh??
