WARP ZONE Game Club - Final Fantasy XIII

… or should I say PARADIGM SHIFT game club.

It’s Snow season, and it’s been fun seeing people relive their memories of FFXIII in the Final Fantasy thread and in the 180 Thread . Since many of us want to revisit the game, let’s do as the l’Cie do, and fulfill our Focus.

Here’s a space to post your thoughts, updates, and some of that amazing Masashi Hamauzu score. FF13 has some of the best music of any game.

It’s available for purchase on Xbox 360, Steam, and wherever PS3 games are sold. It’s very regularly on sale, for example it’s currently available on sale on IndieGala for $7 USD

I bought it for $9 on eBay for the console it was originally designed for: the X-Box 360!

My latest take was here:

Delighted my dumb joke landed.

Oh, come on now, you can’t just hit me with the title screen music! Always makes me emotional, lol…

I’ve only recently replayed so I won’t be joining directly, but I support any and all who are! I’m sure I’ll be partaking in the thread either way, lol

I guess Gravity Rush will have to wait a little.

it was designed for xbox 360?
I have had it installed on PC for a long ass time, was planning on playing it on PS3 though. But now I guess I am holding out to play the 360 version. Yes this is how I am and always have been.

I also just wrapped up my playthrough about two years ago and I don’t really have the spoons to give to another at this time.

If anyone is interested in playing the game or the whole trilogy on PS3 with Japanese voices, there was a blog somewhere with a torrent for the mainland Asia/Chinese releases with Japanese VO and English subs. That blog seems to be nuked, but DM me and I can hook you up.

This was, as far as I know, meant as a joke! The game started development as a PS3 exclusive, as was Square’s custom at the time, and the 360 version ran at a lower resolution—though I believe this is no longer the case for later Xbox consoles, which is (oddly) the only console ecosystem where the game is playable and purchasable on the modern ones

Why Square hasn’t released the game for PS4 or PS5 is beyond me!

that’s what I thought, thanks.

Now that I’ve stepped down as a moderator, I’m allowed to make jokes again. :stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes:

Does that mean you’re also allowed to accept money, assuming it’s like the clergy

I would LOVE to participate since 13 and LR are two of my all time faves but I just replayed the whole trilogy like six months ago :smiling_face_with_tear:

I will be following this thread though!!!

@sapphicvalkyrja do you or others have a list of suggested mods for PC? I have some in mind but am curious if there are any the common lists overlook

I normally don’t use mods unless they’re necessary to get a game running on modern hardware, so I’m afraid I can’t be much help there

I’ll add to the energy of the thread by showing off my 13 and LR copies that occupy 2 of the 4 games I have on my desk for just like games being there for being cool; places of honor

Got it. I’ve heard (vaguely) that there are some (mild) graphics issues with the PC version, so I’ll look into that a little more specifically and share my findings here.

Who’s playing on what?

  • PS3
  • Xbox 360
  • PC
  • Steam Deck
  • Other(?)

I’m playing on PC and also looking up mods! It looks like it does require you to unpack 110 gb so that’s a spicy meat’a ball

Also for anyone curious, it sounds like RPCS3 compatibility is not quite there, it crashes in chapter 9 which would be heartbreaking because it’s very deep into the game.
