Edit: there may be some lingering alcohol as well - I really never managed to make it very far in the game, and should revisit.
Either this is an interesting creative writing exercise or a social group for folks with synesthesia. I‘m sure I could make some fun stuff up, but sadly, I have no distinct olfactory memories or experiences associated with my gaming. And some of these posts make me wonder if I’m missing out for lack of that specific sensory experience.

I spent a lot of time in a warehouse as a kid, when my dad would take me to work. If we were early enough, and my dad was busy in his office, I would hazard a few steps into the pitch-dark warehouse, which scared the hell out of me. I remember that it smelled of cold air, cold metal, and, faintly, of cut wood. I imagine the Hangar level in THPS2 smells pretty much the same, with a similar atmosphere of industrial abandon (plus fresh snow).
Today, I'm substitute teaching in a culinary arts classroom, half of which is a full-blown commercial kitchen. All day, there's been a gassy smell seeping out of a row of ovens just behind me. It's a little distressing. _Overcooked!_ probably smells like this.
