Only thing I have to add is that if they insist on forcing an unnecessary “Pro” console on the gaming public, at least make it look cool.

Yeah, the stand is such a petty, money-grubbing thing. It’d be such a relatively trivial thing to just design the stupid thing to be able to stand vertically instead of creating a piece of plastic waste.

I miss slim versions of consoles. I’ve mostly been waiting for them to make a cheaper version of the Playstation 5 that actually fits inside our TV-furniture, and has the fucking disc drive, but now I understand that is never going to happen. The base Playstation 5 is probably going to be the last console that releases with a built-in disc drive, and that’s concerning to me. I like being able to sell my games and buy cheap ones second hand.

The funny thing is they did release a PS5 Slim with a disc drive, but who can remember since it’s exactly as expensive as the original PS5 and is nearly the same size :(

Kiki knows about it, but yes, it’s still too big for our TV furniture. It’s absolutely bonkers. I wouldn’t even call it a slim model. It’s kind of silly.

imo if you already own a powerful PC you keep at your desk getting a console (that already has jailbreaks available and will have more in the future) for the living room still makes sense, but less so at that price for such a silly looking thing that doesn’t fit anywhere.

I don’t see how the new Playstation 5 is any more professional than the original one. If they really wanted to reach the target audience of yuppies they would have a salesforce license as a pack-in.
