I joined a D&D campaign recently — One of our party members is immunocompromised, so we all test for Covid pre-session. I was thinking maybe our group could go in on a larger order of at-home tests to cut costs.

Does anyone have experience buying in bulk?
Any recs on where to order from?

Also just a heads up: The US restarted a 4 free tests per household program in September.

Not sure if this is true everywhere, but at the library I work at we have free covid tests available. Perhaps that could be an option.

i think this could be cutely retrofited into an in-game thing where each character needs to cast a spell on themselves to check for any evil curses before rejoining the party or something

Yes. “Ex-urd”. Also rhymes with “absurd”.

Anyone have experience buying games on the Japanese eShop from outside Japan?

I managed to get a Japanese Nintendo account and log in, but I can’t add funds to it. amazon.jp won’t let me buy an eShop voucher either.

I am looking to play Famicom Detective Club in Japanese and, as I understand it, the other releases don’t have a Japanese option?

Edit: I figured out I had to set my residential address on amazon.jp to a Japanese address, then I was able to buy a digital code to add funds to my wallet.

POLL TIME. Do you prefer to be a little too hot or a little too cold?

Presuming the ideal is 72 degrees f or 22.22 c (which I do), which of these would you rather exist in for a long period of time (a season, for example): 62f / 16.6c or 82f / 27.8c???

When I’m a little too cold at least I can get up and move around or drink some tea or put on another layer. Being a little too hot narrows what I feel comfortable doing because I might make a sweaty mess, which means a shower and laundry and peeing and ugh but it also makes it easier to be more active and I don’t have to wear as much and I know how to have a quick shower (not everyone does). Also ~17° is open all the windows weather whereas 28 is A/C weather which means $$$. I want to give it to too cold but I also want to give it to too hot because of my on-going goal of making friends with summer and to be contrarian lol.

Even if it’s “Actually Too Hot” it’s easier to dump heat. I’ve got an entire 2nd law of thermodynamics backing up my feelings on this one!

“Coziness” to me is basically defined as “being a little too cold but wrapped up in a warm blanket on a comfortable couch or bed,” so this is an easy choice for me.

i feel like “little too cold” is “little too hungry” whereas “little too hot” is like “little too full.”

I dislike sweating and that happens enough when I’m not even warm, so cool it!
