1up Show: Too old for me

X-Play: Watched a lot of it as a kid. Kinda skeeved me out even then

AVGN: Got my vote cuz on rewatching old videos he still makes me laugh when he says things like “What the fuck IS all this shit?? I mean, FUCK!!!”

Reviews On The Run: Don’t know it, sorry

i only caught the tail end of 1up show but was a real retronauts kid. i remember downloading a bunch of it on my ipod mini ahead of summer camp and listening to their persona episode over and over, not really knowing anything about persona (4 would’ve been the newest at the time, i don’t think any of them had been rereleased)

anyway of my gaming media stuff i liked, the only one that broke through to getting showed to other kids was the Plumbers Don’t Wear Ties AVGN.

anecdotally, how funny is it the screwattack dudes are end wokeness guys now.

edit: going thru 1up show vods now and realizing i had unintentionally seen a lot of it, mostly the seanbaby show where they play cho aniki etc. buyer beware on seanbaby’s language

I just enjoy footage of slightly overweight game journalists talking about Fable 2 but filmed with a shaky handheld camera like D Day in Saving Private Ryan

how late do y’all usually stay up? weeknights, i’m around a 9:30 PM person, weekends i try to last until at least 11 to squeeze some extra time out of my day while i can. used to be able to hang 'til 1 or 3 AM but whew not anymore

10 or 11 usually

I usually sleep between 1 and 2 am. I think if I slept at 9:30 I’d confuse my body and ruin my week! I might some day be able to move my bed time up an hour if I stop working nights, but as of now I’ve got the whole “revenge bedtime” thing going where I am working late enough that I try to squeeze in some more fun before sleeping, which winds up taking me into the later hours. If I’m up much past 2 I get into a different kind of trouble since I have to get up at 9/9:30 so it’s kinda a narrow window there.

The more I’m left to my own devices without restrictions the more nocturnal I become.

My default comfort zone is to bed by 10 PM, asleep by 11 PM. I have a baby right now and I take first watch, so during poorer sleep I’m up until midnight or so. Sometimes being up “just in case” and “revenge bedtime” blur. I also sometimes stay up on weekends for games; last night was Lethal Company, which I stayed up until 11 PM for, and it’s common to stay up until midnight or later for tabletop games.

I’ve always been an early bird who doesn’t need much sleep. It’s nice not needing many hours to rest. But that also means when I go to bed closer to 9-10p, I’m waking up at 4-430a. So I try to make myself stay up closer to 11p-12a just so I don’t wake up too early.

I quite enjoy waking at 530a. But 430 is just like waking up in the middle of the night and doesn’t feel right lol

We’re in bed and reading at 8, “lights out” at 845

That said, I get up to exercise at 430 so any later bedtime would kill me

And just to keep everything consistent, that’s every day too. I dunno if it’s bunk or whatever but I thought I had read a while back that one is “supposed to” keep their sleep schedule the same even on the weekends so

i aim for an 11:30 bedtime, though usually overshoot
sometimes by 10 minutes, sometimes by an hour or two…

Yeah i try not to stay more than an hour later on the weekends unless its a special occasion. I guess im lucky that my job is not so stressful that i cant sleep so i dont feel the need for revenge sleep most nights. Getting a good nights rest is more important to me than watching more tv. However sometimes my body tells me to stay up or get up earlier and I try to just go with what its telling me.

This is an extreme long shot question, but is anyone around here familiar at all with Japanese language UFO print media from the late 70’s/early 80’s? I’m aware of UFO と 宇宙 (and I’ve got a few choice issues of it in my cart at Surugaya), but I was wondering if anyone was aware of any other magazines from that era that I might be able to find online, either scans or relatively cheap physical copies. I figured if anywhere on the english language internet might have someone who knows something about this extremely specific Japanese thing, it would be here!

(I should note that I’m not a UFO believer, particularly, this is for a project I’m working on)

My answer would generally be “after 10 hours or so.”

When I don’t want to play it anymore. Could be 100%, sometimes a bit less, a lot less and one time, 200.6%.

My vote is when I’m done with a game, is when I’m done with it!
