Here’s a little personal tradition of mine:
Whenever I beat/hit credits on a game, I try not to move on to something new until I draw something based on it.
Since I draw for a living, it’s a good way for me to make sure I still make art for fun outside of work, since the vast majority of my downtime is spent with games.
I thought it’d be fun if some other folks joined in, regardless of skill level. Let’s make a challenge out of it.
Here’s a few rules/guidelines:
-Don’t get too hung up on the artwork being good. Just draw for fun and have fun sharing it. Anything from a doodle on a napkin, to an elaborate oil painting is welcome.
-This isn’t a critique club, (unless someone specifically asks for feedback) we’re only sharing this art as a silly alternative way to look back on stuff we’ve played.
-Try to stick to the rule of submitting art of a game you’ve recently finished. This isn’t strict, but I find it makes the ‘challenge’ a little less overwhelming. It’s also a nice send-off for something you’ve recently finished.
-Other forms of visual art are welcome too! Not just drawing. 3D, sculpture, photography.
-Please, no generative AI.
-You don’t need to post an image to join in on the thread. Feel free to comment on each others submissions, or discuss the games that are brought up!
I’ll start: Last thing I beat was Hi-Fi Rush. Despite not liking a bunch of the music in it, I adored it.
