I’m hoping the creation of this club will help me stick with SF6 for longer than I usually do for other fighting games. Usually when I pick one up I tell myself “this is the one” only to stop playing after maybe 6 hours, mostly because I can never convince friends to play for more than a few matches and it’s hard to stay hungry when I don’t have a rival. Excited to see what happens!

I’ve never been good at SF but put a lot of time in V learning Chun-Li. This time I went through a lot of Lily’s combo training and I’m working my way up ranked. Looking forward to playing with everyone!

I played a bunch of ranked matches yesterday which helped bc it matched me with people who were closer to my level of playing for the most part. When I went to the battle hub after playing ranked matches I found I had improved a lot. I don’t really know how the club thing works, I have gone on there and seen that other people are playing but don’t know how to interact or hang with you guys. I work Sunday and Thursday nights so I won’t be able to get in on the tournaments but would be fun to play with some of you all during other times. I really like this game, it’s the first competitive online game that has clicked with me. Even just losing over and over again is fun.
Seeing the exo-primal robo versions of SF characters was weird, because Jack from Tekken was basically Robo-Guile, but now we have Robo-Guile for real who just looks like Jack, lol

Also! We’ll be using the IC-adjacent streaming zone discord for tournament organization during the event (if that’s ok @antillese) the invite to the server is at the top of the page of the above link.
The only rule (sorta) is we’d like the tournament to be for ICdirtbag club members or IC peeps in general. If you have a friend that’s interested, and they aren’t already here, drag them kicking and screaming into our folds!
I’m also not really going to be strict about this at all, but I like this community and want to share it with people that would also appreciate it.

I‘m in for sure. Been playing Marisa but I want to mess around with most of the cast. Long sets with friends, and weekly brackets aside I haven’t actually practiced that much.

Something that works for another community that I’m a part of is choosing a particular Battle Hub server number to join regularly—say, Battle Hub 150 (because “Insert Credit” in binary yields a string that includes fifty ones). You can join that Battle Hub and then you can look at the Player List to see if any club members are there (they have a green icon next to their name). From there, you can “Fast Travel” to their location in the Hub and bug them with uppercuts or send direct messages to set up matches on a cabinet.
You can send messages to folks without joining a particular Battle Hub, but the act of hopping on a cabinet to play games has been weirdly easier after occupying the same virtual space.

And if we‘re feeling froggy, we could end up doing a wacky tournament or special rule fights off the cuff. I’ll keep a notebook and pencil handy incase we want to do a quick tourney

Me after 10 minutes in training mode! I can’t join either tournament since I’m cat sitting for a friend so I’ll be away from my PC for a few days. But I joined the club (absolutely love the uniform) and I’m ready for some games with everyone at some point!
