ELDEN RING LAUNCH JOLLY CO-OPERATION THREAD

>

@“chazumaru”#p62762 I really, really, really, really, really, really, really wish there was a way to sort out items per time of acquisition

The UI does not tell you this but if you click left stick on the inventory screen you get a menu that allows you to select sort order, including an option for time of acquisition.

@“Syzygy”#p62767 really good news for you, albeit maybe too late.

WHAT

@“chazumaru”#p62772 it does still separate items by sub type so it's not quite as clear I was hoping, but yeah, I just discovered this tonight too.

>

@“Syzygy”#p62724 Not sure there’s more to argue since our positions seem clear.

Oh, I certainly don't intend to be arguing. I'm just a compulsive nitpicker, even when it's about fixing things that aren't exactly broken.

@“Syzygy”#p62782 how about dialectics? Heheh…

@“Syzygy”#p62787 miquella‘s a >!Tree!< isn’t he?

The question is would the dlc be better as another new open world area with speckled mini dungeons plus one big dungeon or as a classical multi big dungeon. I think I'd prefer the latter, especially if it's in it's own cordoned place a loading screen away from the rest of the game.

I hope the dlc doesn't do the time travel back because they have done enough of that by now thank you. Maybe it would be cool >! To set it in whatever place hourah loux left to with his tarnished gang!<

Saw someone else on PS4/PS5 defeat a shardbearer tonight, hell yeah. If you kept playing after, I was probably the one right after!

So after saying how Stormveil was kinda small, The Royal Capital may be the best area from soft has ever man. I finally cleared it all tonight. Wow. I love the multiple walls, the separate slum and sewers…

Anyways @Syzygy prediction: >!melina is about to be princess, daughter of queen marika lol!<

>

@“Herb”#p62764 If you want easy mode use all the cheesy tactics and items. If you want more challenge restrict yourself from using that stuff or play under-leveled - or both.

Turns out self-discipline was the _true_ Dark Souls all along...

i‘m not good so i don’t go out of my way to engage with the invasion mechanic too much, but i did like the double-edged sword of Humanity in DkS1. you have to be human to summon (mostly) but also become open to invaders. but you can always see messages+bloodstains as long as you're playing online.

Late game optional lord fight: ||phew! Just beat Malenia after about ten tries. First fight in the game where I literally threw everything at it to win. Used rune arcs for the first time (Morgott’s), lvl 10 mimic tier, lvl 25 zwei, lvl 140 character, heaviest armor I could equip with a medium roll (scale armor), flask of wondrous physick with health regen and str boost, exalted flesh, and blood grease reapplied throughout the fight. If that’s cheesing call me Parmegiano Reggiano baby! Great fight.||

With the help of my jolly jellyfish co-op friend I took down Godrick and had a hearty laugh at the >!NPC interaction!< afterwards. I definitely didn't see all of Stormveil but I was getting a little fatigued with it so going to move on for now and then go back later.

Post-Godrick I definitely feel in a better place with the game. I was feeling extremely limited and weak for a lot of the game leading up to that point. Now I have the Uchi upgraded well, spirit summon upgrades unlocked, bow upgraded a bit, am a decent level...feel more ready for what's out there at a basic level.

@“fridgeboy”#p62814 My build just is not suited for Malenia. I am so based around tanking though hits and then walloping the boss when I get a chance plus applying Bleed / Frostbite / Poison. I always win through attrition. Her health recovery just wrecks that strategy. I think I beat everyone else though.

Decreased weapon skill, Sword of Night and Flame’s damage.

Increased FP consumption and lower duration of Ash of War, Barricade Shield.

Decreased the damage of spirit summoned when using the item Mimic Tear Ash and changed the spirit’s behavior pattern.

I feel personally attacked.

@“chazumaru”#p62882 That Mimic Tear is (was?) OP as hell, though. At least, I‘d say that it is if you ||are holding a Warming Stone when you summon it, as they have unlimited FP.|| Meaning, basically, it has ||unlimited (if slow) self healing|| capabilities. Or, maybe, had. Since I imagine at least one crucial component of that is part of the behaviour pattern that’s been addressed in the patch.

I basically accidentally half-cheesed ||Astel|| because I saw that trick outlined somewhere and thought to try it, not realizing how OP it really was... at least for that fight, anyway. The most recent other time I summoned that thing it seemed to die immediately for reasons I didn't catch. ||Unlimited slow, gradual healing|| ain't gonna help much if it's taking spike damage.

Hoarfrost Stomp was pretty OP too actually. If slower, harder to land, and much smaller ranged Ashes also don't do nearly as much damage, that isn't very fun. Edit: I'm thinking specifically of stuff like the Frost Cloud or Frost Slash Ash or whatever it is, not just any other weapon skill.

I‘ve also seen people complain about the PvP imbalance potential caused by somethin called the Moonveil Katana, and I think it might have had something to do with how its Arcane scaling wasn’t working right, which is also in the patch notes. Wonder if that's been caught too?

@“Gaagaagiins”#p62884 You found a good combination for your summonable AI silver tear spirit ashes then!

Mine was a breeze, I really like how it copies your exact loadout. You're giving me ideas for my own silver tear ashes.

@“Syzygy”#p62897 Moonveil scales off INT and has not been touched: it is quite strong though as a consequence a lot of people using it in PvP just spam the skill and break down if you can roll past it.

Someone I saw talking about it was confident that it was powerful to the point of unintentional imbalance, but maybe they were just salty? Them being salty is hardly unlikely.
