Been taking notes while playing to keep track of stuff and also to just document. Today’s play time did not have a lot of forward momentum
Also I put the password into both the multiplayer and group field, is that right? Or are we only required to put it in one of them
OH TURNS OUT I PUT THE DONKYMLK IN THE WRONG KING'S FIELD
So I fixed that
And then I beat the guy with a summon!
Summoning at the boss door was crazy, there are so many freaking players. Also most of them are noooooobs. But I found a guy with two greathammers a bit further away from the masses of summon signs.
Pro tip, don't summon TWO fools to help with the boss, it makes the bosses' HP pool that much bigger. Just try to get one guy who can aggro / tank for you.
Yup. I put it as the group password. I threw down my summon sign last night and got called into random people's games so I think just prioritizing IC members is a good strategy. I love that you get an item that just summons you to anyone looking for help nearby without putting a summon down in a specific place. It lets me farm materials for awhile before I get called in.
@“Syzygy”#p60211 this is also the first game in this series where there is such an abundance of secrets to be found, you can‘t thoroughly get everything in one run usually unless you are inhumanely meticulous. It’s gonna be a long time before this game is fully absorbed into the information super hiway. There‘s still story being unfolded in Dark Souls 1, but that is different, I’m talking all the dang item locations in this game are insane. It‘s some guy’s job at FS to place all these items so thoughtfully, what a cohesive team they have there. How does it still feel just like King‘s Field after all this time?? They somehow mastered item placement all the way back in King’s Field II.
-IMHO
Played a good amount last night and saw some really amazing scenery and died a ton, but didn't find anything to actually help progress other than a slightly better version of a heater shield.
@“Syzygy”#p60223 I was comparing notes with a friend on areas we‘d both been through, and they kept asking me “how did you find that? how did you know about that?” … which makes me wonder if I’m being overly thorough or if people just don't notice some of the signposting.
There's an area I had found that required going over a ledge and doing some traversal, it seemed obvious to me: an outcrop type area out of nowhere. First thing I tried was swinging the camera around for a look and sure enough I could see somewhere to drop down to, so down I went.
Lol what the heck putting DONKYMLK as my group password literally made the game crash to desktop
I don't know what it does, but I noticed that I got some sort of temporary buff after seeing a “someone in your group has killed the shardbearer” message yesterday.
Anyone know what the effect of that buff is?
@“rejj”#p60252 I saw that message just as I was dying in a catacombs, but I was happy for one of our crew.
I really should be leaving more messages. The one or two I've dropped have been getting rated a lot!
@“treefroggy”#p60272 i was just thinking the same
Doing some first-area back tracking, marking the map and such, found my first group bloodstain, and it worked. It’s at the first step, lol.
I gave a couple thumbs up to IC messages today and left my first one ever. Participating!!!
Amalur is a very silly game - the menu navigation/inventory management is a nightmare, the whole world map has to load every time you exit a building, the combat is Cheetos God of War, the plot involves at least three different kinds of elves with different proper noun names fighting each other and the game elegantly conveys RA Salvatore’s massive lore bible by having every last lumpen stonefaced Unreal 3-era NPC spew lengthy entries from it at the drop of a hat - but also kind of addictive and even charming once you get into its questin’/hack-and-slashin’ groove. The weapons are crunchy; you can dress up your dude in cool looking Todd Macfarlane armor; the sidequests will every so often have some funny fairytale twist like a wolf who was turned into a human begging you to change him back because he can’t stand wearing pants. Plays surprisingly well on Switch, good for mulching some hobgoblins and finding a sick new warhammer, like, whenever. It’s more light and fun than latter-day Bethesda stuff!
My _Elden Ring_ copy is lost in the mail (“delayed”).
Hello friends! Been a lurker/listener for months now, but my copy of Elden Ring arrives in about half an hour, and I'm going to need all the cryptic/misleading messages I can get. If anyone is in the ultra-specific venn of playing on PS5 and in GMT and uhh not working on a Monday, see you there.
i played a for a couple hours tonight and did groveside cave and stormfoot catacombs!
