Can Brandon use 4 credits to make Ash watch DS9?

I’d love an entire episode of the panel talking Trek.

I’ll allow it.

What did i do to you specifically for you to wish this fate upon me?? :sob::sob:

I honestly wouldn’t mind. I never watched any of those sci-fi shows with the sole exception of The Expanse.

To wish upon you one of the greatest media experiences ever created? I guess you haven’t done anything, but you can thank me later.

hahaha, I was wondering what those mixes were. divine work, @esper

also, if anyone pops into the English version of Shangri-La Frontier, I’m in that show for a bit – watched most of the first season, and agree that it is pretty solid. it’s almost kind of weird (but very nice) to see shows nowadays that deal with video games and aren’t completely cringe or fully out of touch about it (magical “VR” game world aside, but that’s more of a suspension of disbelief sort of allowance). this is one of a handful of shows/manga recently where you can tell that the writers are legit deeply into games, the first solid wave of creators that came up on this stuff as a big part of their media diet – Delicious In Dungeon and The Unwanted Undead Adventurer really play by some DRPG/dungeon crawler rules, and this one is big on MMO stuff, down to the minutia, while still being pretty fun.

anyway, I play the dev company’s PR exec, Tsukuyogi (thank you twitter user for capturing the clip here). curious that we saw the dev team for the first time in late season one, but they have yet to appear again so far – maybe we’ll pop back in later this season, but that’s a neat episode

I would say it’s an anime that engages with games successfully as a fan - but it has a very fan-style knowledge of games and how they’re made, which is what (I think) I referenced in the show. (also, congrats for being in it)

I think splash damage leading to rocket jumping counts as an accident that led to a game mechanic.

I cheered at my TV when Frieren casually depicted a 2D auto map spell. So I guess I’m obligated to give Shangri-la Frontier a look.

for sure, that was one reason I was curious if they’d expand on those characters (other than getting paid) – when you do see the studio, it’s this giant empty building with a PR exec, an assistant, and two developers
for what is basically the WoW of this world. but from the player-side perspective, it’s neat to see more recent TV shows progress from people flinging around MadCatz PS3 controllers with bleep-bloop stock sounds

Been listening for a year now and just wanted to sign up and say really enjoying Ash as a full time panelist. Keep up the great work everyone and thanks for doing the show.

got way behind on the pod so i’m still catching up, but as someone who loves these games and these movies, The Green Knight and The Northman are 100% Soulslikes.

this isn’t my list but i’m definitely the one who suggested adding The Northman lol
