I’ve been fascinated by the original silver-turquoise and silver-orange Game Boy Advance models since I read a Spaceworld report back in 2000. Always was disappointed that they never saw the light of day.

Eventually I just got a custom-made Game Boy Advance in that vein. Although I opted for a white body since the silver didn’t look quite right to me. The models were always so well-lit in the game magazines that it always came across as white to me anyway.

Yeah they remind me more of the Wonderswan they came in to assassinate.
For the right look maybe you could begin with an original oem Platinum gba.
I like the other proto/demo units that were transparent with those same colored buttons.

I’ve posted about this before and yeah they should have committed to the iBook colours.

A SEGA Saturn in this color would have been sick. They did it for game gear so that counts.

I love that they refer to Japan as “The Homeland” in that article

I’ve been doing some research into Sega Saturn controllers and found a whole range I knew nothing about, because they were not for the Sega Saturn! They’re official Sega controllers, made by Sega Logistics Service which is the subsidery of Sega Fave, which is the division that looks after amusement arcade machines and toys. I’m sure some of you have seen a few of them, but it turns out they did quite a range, both on the PS2 and Windows/MacOS. I included the colours of the originals, because with new buttons for me they are colour variations!

Here’s the PS2 models:

240px-ControlPadPS2Black
240px-ControlPadPS2Grey
240px-ControlPadPS2SnowWhite
240px-ControlPadPS2White

And my personal favourite:

ControlPadPS2Purple

Then for USB they went all out:

Finally, one edition which was only available with Puyo Puyo on MacOS and may now be my favourite controller ever:

They even did the virtua stick (Which has an extra button with a new colour. Still counts)

That white+orange one looks real nice.

Wow. Knew about some of these, but had no idea they did so many. I want one.

Likewise! I’d seen the PS2 ones before but didn’t realised they did more than just black and white.

There was another I found, from the now long dead play Sega service which was a subscription service to play games in your browser, both emulation and flash games. If you paid a subscription fee you could get this

I’ve read that while they look good, apparently they were prone to breaking really easily. Shame as they are really unique!

That Macintosh Puyo Puyo one is indeed quite wonderful. Too bad Mac gaming didn’t continue in that direction.
