**FINAL WEEK** - Vote Today! ?️ 2023 forums.insertcredit.com Video & Game Poll ?

Okay, we‘re down to the wire, here’s a list that I feel like I haven‘t spent enough time with but IT’S A LIST. In alphabetical order.

9 Hours, 9 Persons, 9 Doors
Castlevania: Symphony of the Night
Dance Dance Revolution
Dragon Quest III
Eschatos
Fatal Frame II
Nights into Dreams
Panzer Dragoon Saga
Tetris
Undertale

I kind of hate making "top" lists because my opinions shift all the time. But... those are 10 games I like quite a lot if nothing else!
IDK what version of DDR or Tetris to go with. They're all KIND OF the same but also the newest versions are usually the most expansive and pleasant to play. If I HAVE to be picking a version, let's say original arcade DDR and Game Boy Tetris because they both represented a big shifts in the gaming landscape while the later versions are mostly iterations on that. I know Tetris predates Game Boy but there's a case to be made for GB being the one that popularized the game with a mass audience.

In no specific order, my 10 games. Wanted to get my list in before the cutoff, but I think later on I‘ll come back to write a bit more about why these! The rough theme is "games that made me sit back and think, ’man…. damn.'"

  • - Ace Combat 3: Electrosphere
  • - Metal Gear Solid
  • - Dragon Quest V (specifically the DS version)
  • - The Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening (1993)
  • - Final Fantasy IV
  • - Immortality
  • - Max Payne 2: The Fall of Max Payne
  • - 80 Days
  • - Alpha Protocol
  • - The Music Machine
  • @“antillese”#p126349 It's not going on my list this time around but Ziggurat is dope as hell and I still have an old iPhone with it installed.

@“jeelz”#p126624 I had my 10 games, and I wanted to have an iPhone game covered. And the inside baseball of my list building (which in full disclosure, I did very very very very fast) is that Ziggurat displaced… ~(Street Fighter 3: Third Strike.)

    ok that's it thanks everyone

@antillese please lock if you would be so kind ty

@“antillese”#p126634 I had a dream that Tim made Ziggurat 2 so he's probably making it right now

I better figure out how to clean up those old threads. I dont think the current forum supports enough text color options. Will have to think of something

Personally, mainly because of how we’ve incorporated the historical perspective on previous polls in results of subsequent polls, I’m not sure that that’s necessary. I feel that representing at least some reflection or analysis of the results of the previous polls in the presentation of the third poll would be a better use of time than fixing the formatting of the old threads.

Perhaps I’m less sentimental than others, though. In my mind, it’s like, we might as well leave these works as two trunkless legs of stone since they’re already alone among the lone and level sands. Like, seriously, why didn’t 𝐎𝐙𝐘𝐌𝐀𝐍𝐃𝐈𝐀𝐒, King of Kings, just build more statues?

idk I think I’ll try to make them not look like shit

Curious what makes you say this, as far as I know all the colors which worked in Flarum work here

he’s right you can enter any hex code

    he's right
you can enter any hex code

I think the issue is the formatting of tables is just completely different on flarum, so it won’t automatically adjust. If you can copy the raw values into something like excel and then copy the plain text values into discourse you should be able to use colors.

because I made a half hearted effort to fix the formatting in that thread like a year ago, found how I’d done it on the old forum didn’t work on the new one, decided not to ask anyone for help, and gave up

Not to wax nostalgic about flarum but it was fun to see what kind of colours you could get out of it using colloquial names. I’m certain I must have used chartreuse in a post before

I see what the issue with the colors was.

    trending up

didn’t need an end tag in Flarum, but it does in Discourse

    trending up = trending up

As far as I know those named colours are native to CSS and have been working for me on Discourse.

pleased the threads got fixed and I didn’t have to ask for help or admit I couldn’t do something. Ideal outcome

Few things have made me as aware of the passage of time as the knowledge that it’s been nearly two years since the last poll.

The twine game I made for the short-lived Twine club had lines of CSS that called for Chartreuse by name. It’s the awful green that shows up when you mouse over choices. Good ol’ Chartreuse.
