Another Steam sale is upon us. Hereās what Iām picking up:
The Long Drive seems like it might be the driving game Iāve always wanted.
Iāve had my eye on this game for a dogās age and finally caught it at the right time. It looks kinda bananas.
Really gnarly pinball.
What yāall getting? Anything cool?
Pretty happy with my stack, here. Not pictured: the Colorado, New Mexico and Texas DLCs for American Truck Simulator. Also Iām buying Hitman for the second time yeehaw
couple of yeo games for 5 and change
Dirt-cheap summer sale recs:
Wuppo is a platform-adventure game in the vein of Cave Story with a richly detailed, vibrant world to explore and inhabit. This game rules.
Pharaoh Rebirth+ is a nicely varied metroidvania with an emphasis on the 'vania.
Hypnocult is a mentally exhausting arcade-action game by Stephen Lavelle of Stephenās Sausage Roll fame.
Linelith is a short, surprising puzzle game by Patrick Traynor of Patrickās Parabox fame.
Hazelnut Hex is a cute little STG, themed like an advergame for a fictional cereal. Makes for a pretty breezy 1CC if youāre into that.
Comparatively expensive summer sale rec:
Forza Horizon 4 is getting delisted at the end of the year, so itās been heavily discounted. The Ultimate Edition, featuring all DLC, is currently going for twenty bucks.
Disc Room is cool
One of my favorite search action games of all time is half off. If exploration, secrets and finding trinkets is what you like about these games I highly recommend it.
Youāll probably have some game mechanic gripes early on but the game quickly addresses them in the first hour.
Metal Gear Solid Master Collection is $20 at Best Buy, and I think other places possibly Amazon.
Switch and Xbox Series X.
I, and others have reported, had a $5 Best Buy discount thingy in my email bringing it to $15 and free shipping.
Fist: forged in shadow torch, a search action game that Frank and Brandon mentioned as liking in some past episode, is going to be free starting tomorrow on the epic game store.
I could have some part of that wrong as it was a while ago
I play a ton of these games and itās a pretty good one. Good combo based combat and pretty uncommon traversal upgrades. It feels a little like a brawler compared to most games in the genre.
Atari 50 for PC is Ā£3.99 at cdkeys.
Playasia is having a sale of three selected PC games for a total of $15. There are some pretty decent games included that would typically be over $15 just on their own, definitely worth poking around
Atariās got a pretty good summer sale going on for Switch in the US and UK ā def scoop up Tempest 4000 for $3.99 if you can. I also grabbed Strife: Veteran Edition for $2.49 (not something Iād ever thought to play, but itās pretty interesting to look at), and will probably scoop up PowerSlave: Exhumed for $8.99 and the Turok trilogy for $23.99 if I stay on budget this week. Thereās stuff in there!
Free copy of Intravenous on Steam if you sign up to the fanatical newsletter. You do need to link your steam account to them though, as an FYI.
i think this was also recently given away on GOG?
It was also free on Steam about a month ago to celebrate the release of #2
