Soul Blazer is always good for a revisit! I think it’s the same kind of comforting and simple experience, but you get that feeling of progressing and rescuing people at a nice pace.
The last JRPG I played was Yakuza: Like a Dragon which I bounced off of because it required a lot of commitment and is all about spectacle, so a quieter JRPG I can just hang out in is perfect for me at the moment.
Now that one I have played, and I actually have the cart for that in a little box at home. Probably worth a replay one of these days though along with all the Ace Attorney games
think I’ll try the Caveman 2 Cosmos mod for Civilization IV. Strong user reviews on the civfanatics forum
Insanely incredibly vastly filled with content. This is an abasolutely goos-bumb inducing mod pack. I could play this my entire life and never be done with it. Truly fanstactic work! Thank you thank you thank you for making this for us all to use for free, god dammit it cannot get any better than this!
I enjoyed the Metaphor Refantazio demo and have been thinking about picking it up but l also don’t want to be burned by the “Bless me, Ultima” edition in a year and a half. Lord knows there’s enough other stuff to play during that time, but well…new and shiny.
I just found out about simple series 2000 vol 78, the uchuu daisensou, or great space war. It’s an ace combat-like which starts out as planes vs planes, but eventually becomes planes vs kaiju, giant crabs, etc. It’s almost looking like an airborn EDF. I haven’t seen many people talk about it, and maybe it’s terrible. but the back of the box has tons of these screens.
I’m only familiar with it because I saw it on Japan Retro Direct at some point. Never looked much into this but looks rad. I’d argue like 80% of the value of a Ace Combat is the aesthetics and this certainly has one!
Wow - I am constantly surprised by which simple series games came out in europe. There were so many! Europe was spoiled in the ps2 era and I feel like I never hear folks talking about it.
