Got to see Blur last night at a regular venue not a giant festival, it was an all timer. Didn’t think I would get to see them in my lifetime, especially like that. It was loud and the sound was good! They played a bunch of stuff I didn’t expect, definitely was one for the fans.
This isn’t morning music, but it is technically morning where I am and I just put this on – so it goes in this thread!
New @fugazi57 mix!
That one was really good!
Yes I’m back as I was on holiday last week, so an extra special listening experience today!
Today is a very VERY chilled day here so it’s one of my favourite relaxing albums of all time, by a favourite band of mine: Route One by Sigur Rós
The idea behind this album is quite amazing and this is a small part of what ended up as a 24 hour piece of music - which if you want to both listen to and see, you can here
Enjoy your weekend everyone, may it be as relaxing as a drive around Iceland
ha, i almost bought Poisson D’Avril yesterday. got Murdered instead @JJSignal. yesterday was the first time i’ve listened to Murdered in maybe four or five years, exclaiming “oh shit is that Sandii?!” while hanging a giant mirror. lol
also got Rage in Eden.
Ah, this is a good song and video. Also yeah hahaha, it’s always fun seeing other musicians just pop up in YMO or collaborative works with the members in their solo stuff. I had that experience when listening to Thomas Dolby’s Radio Silence. I was in the middle of doing something and blurted out “Is that Akiko Yanno??” (it was).
no shit i also got Akiko Yano’s live album Kannazuki Nagatsuki yesterday. got anything to say about Wendy Carlos or Laraaji while we’re at it lmao
The Infinity remaster came out not too long ago. This was a demo on the Infinity EP, but I love it and am glad it was released with the remaster!
Also this is cool:
I’d be surprised if this hasn’t made its way here in some form already, but it came up on shuffle, so:
One of these days I’ll get my hands on an actual copy of this…
I haven’t forgotten learning Friday, but been super busy all week for other posts! In honour of @Jaffe 's birthday, thought I’d share the best theme tune ever from the best TV show ever, Red Dwarf:
So learn from that! But also if you’re a Brit like me (or were lucky enough to enjoy British TV abroad) you probably grew up with the music of the writer of that theme, and many more, Howard Goodall.
He has an amazing career with TV, films, documentaries and even installations at the V&A museum. Worth checking out the Story of Music he did.
Enjoy your weekend everyone. And remember: it’s cold outside, there’s no kind of atmosphere, I’m all alone, more or less…
How did I get associated with Red Dwarf
