I remember my mom being fastidious about not giving me “night-time” cough syrup in the day time, which I guess is good to avoid drowsiness (I was not operating motor vehicles).
But she also made a point not to give me "day-time" cough syrup at night, as if it contained caffeine or something that would jack me up, which makes no sense. It's really "any-time" cough syrup.
Just remembered that while buying cough syrup and wanted to tell somebody.
@“Toph”#p130650 cook out is a goofy ass resturaunt chain and I love it. It's the epitome of what it does… and it does it very well, and very reasonably priced. all this photo is needs is a fresh watermelon m&m peanut butter banana blueberry fudge milkshake, and a cook-out tray, and it would be the most cook-out photo in existence.
maybe they accidentally forgot to put the pickle in your milkshake so they put it on the dog
Some silly video game themed finds from my recent family vacation to italy.
For some reason, all the Venetian tourist trap nick nack stands have sonic the hedge hog supporting charater plushies?
The camera store across the street from where we were staying had this gem. I wish I bought it.
The conveinence store had these little pen cases. Read the tag on the zipper.

And last but not least, this dreamcast logo is absolutely everywhere. Behind this particular wall are the ruins of a 2,000 old village that was destroyed in the same eruption as Pompeii.
@“deepspacefine”#p135672 My mother-in-law recently sent us a video from inside a copyright-infringement tourist t-shirt store asking “do you guys want anything?” and I wish I could've taken a picture of the amazing “Super Mario Jerusalem” shirt they had
@“deepspacefine”#p135672 you can buy a SUP handheld pretty easily if you can use aliexpress! Or at least you could before, I don't see as many with the letters on them now.
This looks at first like an infinitely receding mirror, but the light actually goes zig-zag across the room to see paper towel dispensers at the other end of the bathroom. I stood a few minutes trying to puzzle out what I was seeing during a conference and then snuck a photo. My personal sense of social norms tells me it's risky to take photos in the bathroom.
Has anyone else played a video game in front of a grandparent or person of similar age, and just assumed they would not be able to parse the visual information on screen at all, like even identify if it's a first person or third person game? I always felt this way when gaming with my grandma around, which was probably irrational. She was old, not stupid!
I lived in Takahagi, Ibaraki for a couple years and it is such a random name to choose and I still have no idea how to even figure out if it was actually supposed to be referencing the city I lived in or not. If it‘s not just completely random then I am having trouble imagining how they came up with the name unless someone on the Dev team also taught English there or something. The place had less than 30,000 residents. One of the schools I taught at had 10 students among 5 grades. Like, the most notable thing about the place is that it’s the station at the very top right corner of JR East line maps in Tokyo (at least the ones that are expanded to include more of the area around Tokyo). There‘s an old abandoned factory that they filmed some Kamen Rider episodes in, I think. For a while the mayor was the youngest elected mayor in Japan. But no one would even know about those things if they didn’t live there. Looking at the track, yes there is a local touge and there‘s ONE big sakura tree that maybe would get included in a “top 20 cherry blossom viewing locations in northeast Kanto” list. Maybe top 50. But again there’s no reason for even Japanese people to know about Takahagi, let alone the world.
