Suikoden I and II are my favorite games! I think they‘re the only RPGs that I have played through multiple times. I remember being so hooked after the scene in Lenankamp with Odessa when my brother and I first played it. This is a long thread, gonna take my time and read through it over the next few days. I agree with what tapevulture and others have said about the first one having a punk feel to it. It’s decidedly not “polished” but it obviously had a lot of care put into it. The character portraits really stand out to me in this way, some of them are so odd! It‘s pretty unique. I’ve never done Clive‘s quest, I’m thinking I might play through I and II and do that when the PSX mister core is done.
