I‘ve been thinking a lot about Rhapsody lately. It’s so sweet and honest, and confident in itself. I hope some day I can make something that carries a similar kindness.

This mix has been a fantastic soundtrack for getting work done.

The latest KVGM dig is a wonderful advocate for the Super Famicom’s Sony chip at its best.

This hit the timeline again and I gotta post it

I‘m on a Japanese PC journey. Yuzo Koshiro did the OST for the X68000 port of Bosconian, which echoes my above post of the namco Museum Vol.1 Playstation soundtrack, which contains Bosconian, introducing me to it at an extremely early age (like seven or eight)… ALART ALART!!! Some of the instrumentation on this one reminds me of Koshiro’s track for the dark jungle stratum of the first Etrian Odyssey.

@treefroggy Yeah, something about the beat and that synthesizer sound really echoes Etrian Odyssey. When this song showed up when I hit shuffle on my iPhone, I thought it was an EO song for about 30 seconds lol.

@treefroggy That track is by Hideya Nagata. Bosconian x68000 sound track is indeed super good. Midi showpiece.

I need to play some The Busy Home Town. Beyond this song, it has a pretty nice soundtrack! Very simple looking action game. This song with that strange scrolling background feels really nice and cool.

Love the chorus-like midi samples and all of the crackly beats in this one.

The Adventures of Batman & Robin has some tunes

My friend has been taking old Final Fantasy Nobuo Uematsu midis, separating the layers, and reprogramming them with various instruments he owns. The results are dreamlike and weird and surprising and I have to share them here on these forums.

@whatsarobot These are super cool. I really like the Balamb Garden one especially.

@Mnemogenic Thanks for listening! Yeah that one is a highlight for me as well. Cosmo Canyon made me feel all queasy, in a good way??

I don‘t know if I’ve posted this in this thread before, but goddamn this theme just slaps so freaking hard:

From a pinball machine, no less. By Brian Schmidt, who went on to do Crüe Ball (you can hear it in this track), Desert/Jungle Strike and a number of others.

I've only played this machine once, but if I found myself in front of one again I think I'd just cradle up for a good 10 minutes just to rock out to this track.

Could really picture the Genesis being able to put out something as moody and Carpenter-esque as this, but nothing springs to mind

Not sure if this should go here or in another music thread but Okumura (the MCs that did the sushi song in No More Heroes 3) have done a God Hand track that samples the God Hand music.
